The Public Utilities Board recommends approval (6 - 0). STRATEGIC ALIGNMENT This action supports Key Focus Area: Enhance Infrastructure and Mobility. INFORMATION/BACKGROUND The Solid Waste and Recycling Department operates the Public Disposal Facility (PDF), located at the City of Denton Landfill. The PDF includes a recyclables collection and storage area, as well as a designated citizen drop-off area. This facility operates under the City’s Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Municipal Solid Waste Permit #1590(B). The purpose of the PDF is to provide a safe, controlled environment by separating public customers from commercial haulers and the active landfill working face. This separation reduces the risks associated with interactions between the public and landfill operations, including waste collection vehicles, heavy equipment, and construction machinery. The construction of the Public Disposal Facility Repairs has a total estimated cost of $579,952. This estimate includes a $552,335 total base bid amount and a contingency of $27,617. A contingency allowance, if any, is for the sole use of the City and will be subject to written authorization by the City’s Project Manager and Program Manager.
