The scope of work shall be finalized upon the selection of the Firm. The respondent’s submission
shall have accurately described your understanding of the objectives and scope of the requested
products and services and provided an outline of your process to implement the requirements of the
Scope of Work and Services. It is anticipated that the scope of work will include, at a minimum,
the following:
SIGNAL HEADS 12” (Bid Items 1-4)
Material: Ultraviolet-stabilized black polycarbonate resin (having a minimum thickness of .100
inches) and all stainless steel hardware with clasp wing nut assemblies for door closures.
Wire Openings: Accommodates three ¾” diameter cables between sections.
Terminal Block: 3 section, 5 or 6-points
5 section, (2) 5 or 6-points
Signal Alignment: Integral 72-tooth serrated locking ring, adjustable in 5 steps
Overall Dimensions: 12” (300mm) section 13.25” W x 13.44” H x 6.44” D
(337mm x 341 mm x 164mm)
Weight: 300mm/section 5.13 lbs. (2.3 kg)
Warranty: One year against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship from date of
installation.
SIGNAL BACKPLATES AND TUNNEL VISORS FOR 12” HEADS (Bid
Items 1-4, 44-55)
Material: ALUMINUM BACKPLATES (Bid Items 1-4, 44-55)
POLY TUNNEL VISORS (Bid Items 1-4)
The backplate shall be aluminum, louvered, flat black on both sides, and of a one-piece design.
All surfaces shall be flat and straight without blisters, scratches, buckling, or warping. It shall be
designed to fit each manufacturer’s signal and be contoured to the signal head to eliminate gaps
between the backplate and the signal housing and to allow for attaching to the signal head. It shall
provide a minimum 5” border beyond all sides, top and bottom of the signal and shall have a 3”
corner radius. The finished backplate shall be predrilled and louvered to fit the signal head
configuration for which it is designed.

Fabrication: The tunnel visor shall be a one-piece design and fully connected as a ring on the tab
mounting side. All surfaces shall be flat and straight without blisters, buckling or warping. It shall
be designed to fit each manufacturer’s signal properly without distortion and gaps when it is
mounted. The color shall be black unless otherwise specified and shall be consistent throughout
the entire piece without varying shades or tones.
Hardware: Each backplate shall be provided with all necessary bolts, nuts and washers, or screws
and washers, for assembling the backplate and attaching to the signal head. All hardware shall be
stainless. When mounted on bosses provided on the signal head, self-tapping screws shall be
provided along with applicable washers, #10x5/8” screw and #8x3/4” fender washer typical.
When mounting by drilling through the signal body, the proper quantity of the following shall be
provided: #8-32 x ¾. Pan Head screw, 5/8” x 1” elongated washer, #8-32 Hex, locknut with nylon
insert. Each tunnel visor shall be secured to the signal with a wide pan head machine screw that
in length exceeds the thickness of the visor’s mounting tab by a minimum of 1/8”.
Certification: Upon delivery, successful bidder may be required to supply documentation
certifying that material supplied under this contract meet or exceed specification requirements as
stated above.
Signal Accommodations: Each backplate and tunnel visor shall be designed to properly fit
specific signal manufacture’s signal heads as specified in the bid proposal.
PEDESTRIAN SIGNAL HEADS (Bid Items 5-6)
Certification: All Pedestrian signal heads must seal a 16”x18” type lens, TXDOT approved and
meets or exceeds ITE specifications.
Warranty: One year against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship from date of
installation.

HENKE CABINET: (Bid item 66)
Denton Cabinet Specifications: Cabinet assembly shall be the most current Henke Enterprises,
Inc., model number 8P168T/Denton Special with the following features: P44 cabinet with front
and rear doors, door rod rollers, no police door, both standard 18 ½” x 40 5/8” anchor bolt pattern
and removable Denton Special 18” x 30” anchor bolt pattern, bottom shelf shall have a hinged top
drawer capable of supporting 50 pounds when fully extended. The maintenance switches shall be
mounted in two rows. The top row viewed from left to right shall be Flash/Auto, Stop Time/Off,
and Controller Test/Normal. The bottom row viewed from left to right shall be Signal On/Off,
Auto/Manual, and Manual Pushbutton Cord. The 16 position load bay shall be complete with 8
flash transfer relays, 16 PDC model SSS87-I/O load switches and 1 PDC SSF87 flasher. The load
bay shall include load capacitors on all load switch outputs and MOV’s on all signal field
terminals. The main power panel shall be standard ACP-340 style with GFCI outlet. The camera
power panel shall be mounted above the main power panel and shall include an ACP-340, circuit
breaker and terminal block, prewired to the line side of the main power panel breaker. The detector
panel shall be Denton Special with Econolite Autoscope Solo Terra I/O cable, pedestrian isolation
card, detector test switches for 4 pedestrian phases and 8 vehicle phases, field terminals for 4
channels of Opticom detectors and 16 channels of vehicle detectors. The 16 loop terminals shall
include 16 SRA-6LC loop surge protection devices. ACP-340 Video power panel with circuit
breaker and terminal block, Pre-wired Terra Video I/O cable, Denton Special detector panel with
ped isolation card, Detector test switches for 4 pedestrian phases and 8 vehicle phases with field
terminals for 4 channels of Opticom detectors and 16 channels of vehicle detectors. The card rack
shall be a Denton Special 14 slot rack wired for power supply, 4-4 channel vehicle detectors, 1
Autoscope Solo Mini-Hub II or Terra TAP, 2-2 channel Opticom or 1-4 channel Opticom
detectors, and a 1.5 Amp CTC card rack power supply. When viewed from the front, and from left
to right, the card rack functions shall be 1.5 Amp power supply, detector phase 1-2-5-6, detector
phase 3-4-7-8, system detector 1-2-3-4, system detector 5-6-7-8, Mini-Hub II or TAP, Opticom
channel C-D, Opticom channel A-B-C-D. The preempt interface panel shall be Denton Special
with 5 momentary preempt test switches and standard TXDOT 57 pin “D” connector interface.
The panel shall also include a Local TOD/Free switch and adapter cable to work with both
Econolite ASC/2-2100 and ASC/3-2100 local controllers. There shall be 2 protected AC power
strips with integral power switches, 15 amp circuit breakers and 6 right angle outlets mounted
horizontally on both the upper left wall and upper right wall of the cabinet. All equipment cables
shall be neatly secured to the walls and rear side of the shelves and routed to their appropriate
equipment locations in the cabinet. In addition to the 15 watt T12 fluorescent light fixture mounted
in the top of the cabinet there shall be a 25 watt 18” flexible arm incandescent light fixture mounted
on the lower right wall of the cabinet to illuminate either the front or rear side of the load bay.
