The scope of work shall be finalized upon the selection of the Firm. The respondent’s submission
shall have accurately described your understanding of the objectives and scope of the requested
products and services and provided an outline of your process to implement the requirements of the
Scope of Work and Services. It is anticipated that the scope of work will include, at a minimum,
the following:
SPECIFICATIONS
NOTE:
The City of Denton reserves the right to purchase adjusted quantities of product based on
need. Partial shipments may be required. Quantities listed are estimates based on prior
years’ uses.
Prices are to include delivery to 901B Texas St., Denton, TX 76209. Unit prices extended
three decimal points will not be accepted.
Bid only formulation of active ingredient in product requested.
Bid only the specific units of measure as requested.
Substitute or alternate bid items must meet or exceed specifications stated for the item and
it is the responsibility of the vendor to prove that the substitute/alternate item is equal.
Substitute items must contain the same active ingredient and container volume as what is
specified.
Vendors must submit MSDS sheets for all products with each delivery.
All chemicals are to be properly labeled as required by State and Federal laws and all
products must be attached to the chemical upon delivery.
The City of Denton will not accept any damaged, opened, cross-contaminated or previously
used products.
Parks and Recreation will require a chemical label conducive with ornamental turf
maintenance or ornamental landscape maintenance for chemicals listed in the document.
Application of fertilizer and other granule products on parks, athletic fields and public
grounds will consist 50 acres to 120 acres around the City of Denton. Locations can vary
from 5 to 12 locations across the City of Denton.

A. LANDSCAPE AND TURF FERTILIZER
1. Color Star Fertilizer –19-13-6 slow release granular fertilizer with bone and blood meal
for applications in seasonal color beds.
2. Blossom Booster 10-30-20 – Water Soluble high phosphorus fertilizer that enhances
flower color and petal size.
3. Miracid Fertilizer 21-7-7 – Water Soluble fertilizer for acid loving plants that offsets
alkalinity and increases iron levels which promotes green-up.
4. 9-23-30 – Starter Fertilizer
5. Agriform Tablets 20-20-20 – Fertilizer tablets used at the base of trees to provide a long
lasting nutrient source.
6. 24-2-12 50%SRN .8%FE TRC - Slow release nitrogen with iron and trace elements
7. 33-0-0 – 33% nitrogen fertilizer
8. 15-5-10 - General purpose fertilizer
9. 18-24-12 - 50% slow release starter fertilizer
B. INSECTICIDES
1. Bayer Advanced Fire Ant Killer – .5% B-cyfluthrin power for fire ant control
2. Delta Guard – A broad-spectrum insecticide for landscape and turf areas
3. Extinguish Plus Fire Ant Bait – A granule fire ant control
4. Advion Fire Ant Bait – A granule ant control for fire ants, bigheaded ants, pavement
ants and turf grass ants.

C. HERBICIDES
1. Finale – A non-selective post-emergent that eliminates woody and grassy plants.
2. & 2-A. Glyphosate 41% w/ 10% Surfactant – A non-selective herbicide for use where a
long lasting residual is desired.
3. Aquastar – 53.8% Glyphosate non-selective herbicide used for control of grassy weeds
in established aquatic and other non-crop sites.
4. Pendimethalin Non-Staining – A selective pre-emergent for control of certain grasses
and broad leaf weeds in turf grass, landscape or grounds maintenance. 1 gallon contains
3.8 lbs. of microencapsulated pendimethalin in an aqueous carrier.
5. & 5A. – Barricade 4L - A selective pre-emergent for control of certain grasses and
broadleaf weeds in turf
6. Snapshot - A selective pre-emergent herbicide for control of grassy and broad leaf
weeds in established ornamental/landscape beds.
7. Confront – A selective post emergent herbicide for control of grassy and broadleaf
weeds in established turf.
8. Spectacle Flo – A selective pre-emergent herbicide for control of annual grasses,
annual sedges, and annual broadleaf weeds in warm season turf grass, landscape
ornamentals and hardscapes
9. Suregaurd – A broad spectrum pre and post emergent weed control
10. Primo Maxx – A plant growth regulator used to suppress Bermuda grass growth
11. 5-0-15 w/ Ronstar – A 5% nitrogen and 15% potassium granule carrier for a pre-
emergent control of annual grasses and broadleaf weeds in turf and ornamentals
12. Ronstar G – A pre-emergent control for annual grasses and broadleaf weeds in turf and
ornamentals
13. Dimension 2 EW – A pre-emergent control for annual grasses and broadleaf weeds in
turf and ornamentals

D. CHEMICAL ADDITIVES
1. Blue Spray Dye – A temporary spray colorant to show where chemicals have been
sprayed.
2. Non - Ionic Surfactant – An additive to a chemical mix which enhances the ability to
adhere to the foliage of plants or turf.
3. Antifoamer/Defoamer – An additive to a chemical mix which prevents foaming.
4. Neutralize Tank Cleaner – Used to clean and neutralize products in spray systems.
5. Just One Bite Pellet Packs – Rodenticide packets
E. SOIL AMENDMENTS
1. Peat Moss – Rough Construction Grade Amendment to reduce the compaction of the
soil and retain water.
2. Sunshine Mix 4 – Soil amendment to increase porosity thereby reducing fungal
activity culturally as part of our IPM
3. Cypress Mulch – No float cypress mulch for landscape beds
4. Back To Nature Cotton Bur Compost - Soil amendment that helps in nutrient
enrichment and increases soil porosity
F. BULK FERTILIZER AND APPLICATION
1. 42-0-0 w/ 50% SCU 1.6%FE Trace Package – Fertilizer with Sulfur Coated Urea,
Iron, and a micro nutrient package which includes boron, zinc, manganese,
magnesium, copper
2. 28-3-10 w/ 50% SCU 3%FE Trace Package – Fertilizer with Sulfur Coated Urea,
Iron, and a micro nutrient package which includes boron, zinc, manganese,
magnesium, copper
3. 46-0-0 – 46% urea nitrogen fertilizer
4. Application Bulk Granules – The application of fertilizer and other granules on
athletic fields, parks and other public grounds
