The scope of work shall be finalized upon the selection of the Firm. The respondent’s submission
shall have accurately described your understanding of the objectives and scope of the requested
products and services and provided an outline of your process to implement the requirements of
the Scope of Work and Services. It is anticipated that the scope of work will include, at a
minimum, the following:
MATERIAL SOURCE:
The contractor shall select his own source of material, pay all royalty, keep pit in co ndition
satisfactory to the landowner, and care for all fences, gates, roads, stock or anything that might
affect the landowner. The City of Denton will not be responsible for any damage in any way that
may affect the landowner.
The minimum six cubic yard sample of the proposed material must be supplied upon request of
the City of Denton at no charge. Access to pit area must be available should onsite inspection of
material be necessary.
DELIVERY:
No fewer than four (4) twelve-fourteen cubic yard trucks shall be utilized on any haul without
permission from the using department. The City of Denton highly encourages you to use as
many trucks as possible so delivery can be accomplished in the shortest period of time.
Material will not be accepted before 8:00 a.m. or after 5:00 p.m., or on weekends without prior
approval of the superintendent of the using department.
All orders will be considered complete at the close of the working day in which the receipts most
closely equal the quantity on the purchase order, (i.e. if you are hauling 600 yards per day, and
the order is for 2,000 yards, then the end of the third day, 1,800 yards will complete the order.
Also, if you are hauling 800 yards per day on the average, 2,400 yards total will be accepted).
Deliveries shall be to various jobsites within the City of Denton, including the Service Center
yard at 1200 Willis Street, Denton, TX 76209.
PICKUP LINE ITEMS:
Supplier shall note the number of miles from the Service Center at 901B Texas Street, Denton,
TX 76209 to the yard where materials will be picked up. The mile distance from the City
Service Center shall be considered in the evaluation of the best value.

plasticity index (PI) between 5 and 16. The select fill should be compacted to at

moisture content between -2 and +3 percentage points of the optimum moisture
value. Compaction will be determined after delivery.

at temperatures above 1200 degrees Fahrenheit. Material must be screened and
de-dusted.

32-33. Vitrified Clay Infield Conditioner bulk ton delivered and 50lb bag delivered,
expanded shell and clay.
34. Decomposed Granite – clean, hard durable particles or fragments of minus select
crushed granite, river rock, or basalt. Material fines shall be evenly mixed
throughout the aggregate. When produced from gravel, fifty percent (50% by
weight of the material retained on a No.4 sieve shall have (1) fractured surface).
35. Engineered Wood Fiber Playground Surfacing (IPEMA certified/ ASTM F2075-
15)- A sample of wood fiber may be requested to ensure that the specifications are
being complied.
36. Compost – bulk cubic yard delivered, Organic, aerobically composted humus
containing manure, wheat straw, plant matter, hardwood shavings, and other
valuable organic components. Compost consists of approximately 80%
vegetative material and 20% animal manure. Materials are fully composted under
proper C: N ratios with sustained temperatures to 170 Fahrenheit. Optimum cat-
ion exchange capacity, free of weeds, weed seeds, insects and pests, PH 6.5 – 7.0
37. Azalea Soil – bulk cubic yard delivered, Reground enriched mulch mixture of
60% pine bark and 40% Canadian peat moss with supplemental nutrients added.
Mixture has initial pH of 5.5 – 6.0. Soil provides long term buffering to hold
acidic soil conditions.
38. Bedding Soil Mix, bulk cubic yard delivered, Hammer-milled, screened and
aerobically composted organic matter including approximately 45% compost,
approximately 45% de-composted pine bark, and approximately 10% screened
fine sand.
39. Enhanced Bedding Soil Mix, bulk cubic yard delivered, Hammer-milled, screened
and aerobically composted organic matter including approximately 35% compost,
approximately 35% de-composted pine bark 10% screened fine sand, 10% Texas
Green Sand, 10% lava sand. This mix has excellent drainage, moisture retention
and friability. It wets easily, will not compact and can be used directly as a
planting medium with appropriate fertilization. Lava sand provides excellent
water holding capacity for plants as well as root growth stimulation. Texas green
sand contains 20% chelated iron and other micronutrients
40-41. Cypress Mulch bulk cubic yard delivered, 100% Shredded native cypress trees.
Leaves, bark and wood included. Mulch is hammer-milled through a screen to
provide a shredded, fibrous material for excellent hold on sloped surfaces.

C. Bulk Lime:
42-43: The bulk hydrated/slurry lime to be used for street compaction. (Reference
Division 2, Item 2.5 NCTCOG Specifications). Delivered in self-propelled
spreader trucks to the City of Denton job sites. Vendor should indicate minimum
and maximum truck delivery amounts on the pricing sheet – Exhibit 1.
