Questions and Answers
Need clarification on the interior coatings of the spec. Specifically Page 15 of the Technical Specifications (Section 212 Tank Interior Coating System). Sherwin-Williams and Tnemec
are both listed on the specifications.
Tnemec 141-1255 is referenced as the finish at 15-18 mils Dry DFT. The Tnemec 141-1255 is a high solids epoxy, not 100% solids, that would be comparable to Sherwin-Williams Macropoxy
5500LT Epoxy (Not Sherwin-Williams Sher-Plate PW).
The Sherwin-Williams Sher-Plate PW is a 100% solids Epoxy designed for Plural Component Application and very fast return to service (less than 36 hours - critical to fast return to service
on this project).
The Tnemec product 141-1255 has a return to service of 7-30 days depending on temperature per their data sheet. The Tnemec Plural Spray 100% Solids Equivalent to Sherwin-Williams Sher-Plate
PW is their Tnemec FC22 Epoxoline.
Please advise if the Tnemec 141-1255 is correct and will remain and the Sherwin-Williams Equivalent (Macropxy 5500LT) will be added in place of references to Sher-Plate PW or if the
Tnemec 141-1255 is incorrect and will be replaced with Tnemec FC22.
Answer: On the specifications please replace references to Sherwin-Williams Macropoxy 5500LT from Sherwin-Williams Sher-Plate PW on page 15.
