6891-3 Scope of Work - Coastal Wind
The City is seeking to acquire 50 to 100 MW of long-term wind energy for twenty (20) years, bundled with the associated environmental attributes. Denton prefers that energy deliveries
start by December 31, 2020. The City will consider proposals based on different commercial structures and commercially viable renewable resource technologies.
Acceptable bids for renewable resources include power purchase agreements (PPA) from new or from existing facilities that have available capacity, as well as from a range of ownership
structures, including PPAs with purchase options or obligations, PPAs with a right of first refusal, and sales from existing renewable assets. The respondent is required to submit
a draft PPA.
The City has a preference for utility-scale wind generation facilities within the ERCOT region that are sited within the ERCOT Coastal and Southern weather zones (“coastal wind”).
The City has received interest from other public power entities desiring to procure wind energy, capacity, and environmental attributes as part of this solicitation. These public power
entities would each execute independent power purchase agreements with the successful proposer(s). All terms, conditions, requirements, requests, and rights of the City under this RFP
will also apply to these public power entities unless explicitly stated otherwise.
