SUBJECT
Consider adoption of an Ordinance authorizing the City Manager to execute Change Order
Number 2 to the contract between the City of Denton and Jagoe-Public Company; providing for
the expenditure of funds there for; and providing an effective date (IFB 6792– Eagle Drive
Drainage Improvements Phase II - Change Order Number 2 in the amount of $47,432.00).
BID/FILE INFORMATION
This change order is to compensate the Contractor for additional work required for the
instillation of the new sanitary sewer line and water line. This work was required when it was
discovered Atmos gas line was relocated out of the way of the drainage structure but into the
way of the relocated sewer line. Due to the separation requirements, the water line had to be
adjusted as well. This work includes an additional manhole, thrust blocking, and increased linear
feet (lf) of water line, sewer line, trench safety, and steel casing. This work was necessary to
keep the construction project moving since the adjustments to the design took only two days
instead of waiting for Atmos to relocate their line.
Original contract amount of $2,057,289.20 executed on July 17, 2018 through City Council.
Change Order Number 1 in the amount of $23,292.00 added Portable Changeable Message
Boards to the bid tabs and added additional funds to Barricade Mobilization (install and remove)
to compensate the contractor for extra work required to open Eagle Drive between segments of
work executed on August 20, 2018 under purchasing authority amount.

RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval of Change Order No. 2 in the amount of $47,432.00. The overall
change order percentage on the project is currently 3.4% by execution of City Manager authority.

you certain written notices or disclosures. Described below are the terms and conditions for
providing to you such notices and disclosures electronically through your DocuSign, Inc.

Getting paper copies
