ADDENDUM NUMBER 3 TO CONTRACT DOCUMENTS & SPECIFICATIONS FOR 2019 DENTON STREET RECONSTRUCTION GENERAL CLARIFICATIONS AND QUESTIONS 1. Please clarify Hercules Lane Alternate 1. a. The alternates for Hercules Lane have been removed from the plans. The bid form has been revised to remove the driveway reconstruction alternates east of Stuart Road (Alternate 1). 2. What is the term of the project? a. There is a 2 year maximum for the contract time. 3. What are the soil stabilization requirements? a. Both lime stabilization and cement stabilization are used. Please refer to the typical road sections for more detail (Plan Sheet 4-8) and the Terracon Geotechnical Report. 4. Are the spoils line items intended to include unclassified excavation? a. Unclassified excavation is included under the City of Denton Specification: ST3 – Remove Asphalt Pavement. 5. Are we doing one way traffic in all street? a. Thomas Street & Scripture Street will require one way traffic. Must maintain temporary driveway access. 6. Please clarify the erosion control. a. The construction plans provide an erosion control narrative with practices to be utilized. However, contractors are responsible for developing a SWPPP. Inlet protection will be required for all inlets. Rock check dams may be required in areas with steep slopes. 7. Will the area be tested for sulfates? a. Each street has been tested for sulfates. Please refer to the Terracon Geotechnical report in the Bid Package. Contractor shall coordinate with geotechnical engineer for lime-series test and sulfate test prior to lime or cement stabilization or subgrade. 8. Is the City handling testing? a. No, testing will be handled and paid for by the Contractor. Yes, a minimum of 2 message boards per street will be required. 10. Will we be allowed to work on more that one road at a time? a. Yes, but the maximum length of construction per street is 2500 LF. 11. Please clarify the bid submittal. a. Bids can be submitted on the ionwave website or via hard copy but not via email. 12. Plan sheets 14-17 show storm drain items, 5' flume at Windsor/Bell and 24" CL III RCP and storm drain removal on Hercules/Camelot. I don't see bid items for them. Do bid items need to be added for them or are they not to be performed? a. The Windsor/Bell flume quantity is covered under line item 27. This has been revised to be 5” thick. The storm drain on Hercules has been added to the bid form. 13. Item 59 Relocate DME Pole @ Old Ochard Lane. Should this item be included be included in the bid, and if so could an allowance amount be included? a. This power pole has already been relocated by DME, therefore it has been removed from the bid form. 3.02 CHANGES TO THE BID FORM - SECTION 00 4100 A. Remove and replace with enclosed Section 00 4100 B.
