AN ORDINANCEOF THE CITY OF DENTON,A TEXAS HOME-RULEMUNICIPAL
CORPORATION,AUTHORIZING THECITY MANAGER TO EXECUTEA CONTRACT WITH
QUESTCAREMEDICAL SERVICES,PLLC, FOR THE PERFORMANCE OF MEDICAL
DIRECTIONSERVICESFORTHE DENTONFIREDEPARTMENT; PROVIDINGFOR THE
EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS THEREFOR; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE (RFQ
7183–AWARDEDTO QUESTCAREMEDICAL SERVICES,PLLC, FORTHREE (3) YEARS,
WITH THE OPTIONFORTWO (2)ADDITIONAL ONE (1) YEAR EXTENSIONS,IN THE
TOTALFIVE(5)YEARNOT-TO-EXCEEDAMOUNT OF$400,000).
WHEREAS,QuestcareMedical Services,PLLC, theservicesprovider(the“Provider”) set
forth in thisordinanceisbeingselectedasthe mosthighly qualified onthebasisof its demonstrated
competenceandqualifications to perform the proposedprofessional services;and
WHEREAS, the feesunder the proposed contract arefair and reasonableand areconsistent
with and not higher than the recommendedpractices and feespublished by the professional
associationsapplicableto the Provider’s professionand such feesdo not exceedthe maximum
providedby law; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OFTHE CITY OFDENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. TheCity Managerisauthorizedto enterinto acontractwith QuestcareMedical
Services,PLLC, for the performance of medical direction services for the Denton Fire Department, a
copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is authorized to expend fundsasrequired by the attached
contract.
SECTION 3. The City Council of the City of Denton, expressly delegatesthe authority to
takeanyactionsthat mayberequiredor permitted to beperformed by the City of Denton underthis
ordinanceformedical direction servicesforthe Denton Fire Department,totheCity Manager of the
City of Denton,Texas,or his designee.
SECTION4. The findings in the preambleof this ordinanceareincorporated herein byreference.
SECTION5. This ordinanceshallbecomeeffective immediatelyuponits passageand
approval.
