Exhibit 1 - Agenda Information Sheet - Amendment 4City of Denton _____________________________________________________________________________________ AGENDA INFORMATION SHEET DEPARTMENT: Procurement & Compliance ACM: Davis Gaines DATE: September 15, 2020 SUBJECT Consider adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation, authorizing the approval of a fourth amendment to a Professional Services Agreement between the City of Denton and Graham Associates, Inc., amending the contract approved by City Council on January 10, 2017, in the not-to- exceed amount of $900,256.25; amended by Amendments 1 - 3 approved by the City Council, City Manager and Purchasing; said fourth amendment to provide additional engineering services to the Bonnie Brae Phase 4 I-35 Scripture project; providing for the expenditure of funds therefor; and providing an effective date (File 6285 – providing for an additional fourth amendment expenditure amount not-to-exceed $594,234.70, with the total contract amount not-to-exceed $1,871,640.95). INFORMATION/BACKGROUND The Bonnie Brae Phase 4 Project consists of a four-lane divided roadway, including a 10’ shared use trail, 5’ sidewalk, drainage system and utility replacement. The original scope of the project was from IH-35-Scripture, it has since been divided into two phases: Phase 4A (Roundabout at Scripture) and 4B (IH-35 - Southern end of Roundabout). Phase 4A was bid out in spring of 2019 and awarded to DDM Construction. Phase 4A completed construction in the summer of 2020. Phase 4B is at 90% design and is awaiting approval of this amendment to be completed. Amendment #4 includes Level A subsurface utility exploration for design; traffic signal design for signals at IH-35 service road, Oak Street, and Hickory Street; right-of-way appraisals; landscape design and irrigation design; environmental services for three (3) parcels required for right-of-way acquisition; and franchise utility coordination. On March 20, 2018, City Council approved Amendment #1 with Graham Associates, Inc., in the not-to-exceed amount of $303,960.25 (Ordinance 18-414) On July 25, 2019, City Manager approved Amendment #2 with Graham Associates, Inc., in the not-to-exceed amount of $73,189.75 On May 15, 2020, Purchasing approved Amendment #3 with Graham Associates, Inc., for a 10% labor reduction due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Arlington, TX RECOMMENDATION Award Amendment No. 4 with Graham Associates, Inc., for additional engineering services to the Bonnie Brae Phase 4 I-35 Scripture project, in the not-to-exceed amount of $594,234.70, for a total amended contract amount of $1,871,640.95. ESTIMATED SCHEDULE OF PROJECT This project will be started upon approval with a completion date by Spring 2021. FISCAL INFORMATION These services will be funded from General Obligation Bonds for Streets Projects. Purchase Order #180016 will be revised to include the fourth amendment amount of $594,234.70. The total amount of this contract is $1,871,640.95.
