SUBJECT
Consider adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation,
rejecting any and all competitive bids under IFB 7359 for Lawn and Groundskeeping Equipment, Supplies,
and Services for various City Departments; and providing an effective date (IFB 7359).
INFORMATION/BACKGROUND
The City of Denton recently advertised an Invitation For Bid (IFB) to provide lawn and groundskeeping
equipment, supplies, and service for various City departments. Upon review of the two bid responses
received, it is clear that bidders made widely differing assumptions about the services and commodities
requested. The Procurement Department recommends rejecting all bids, refining the scope to include
detailed product descriptions, and re-soliciting.
The IFB was sent to 31 prospective suppliers, including two (2) local firms. In addition, specifications were
placed on the Materials Management website for prospective suppliers to download and advertised in the
local newspaper. In accordance with the Local Government Code 252.043, the City Council may reject any
and all bids.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends rejection of all bids for Lawn and Groundskeeping Equipment, Supplies, and Services
for various City Departments.
