Exhibit 1 - Agenda Information SheetCity of Denton _____________________________________________________________________________________ AGENDA INFORMATION SHEET DEPARTMENT: Materials Management CM: Todd Hileman DATE: November 6, 2018 SUBJECT Consider adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton, Texas, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation, authorizing the City Manager or his designee to execute a contract for Temporary Labor Services for various City of Denton departments, which is available from the Houston-Galveston Area Council of Governments (H-GAC) Cooperative Purchasing contract # TS06-17 and in accordance with the provisions of Texas Local Government code 271.083, providing the statutory authority for the City to participate in the cooperative purchasing program; providing for the expenditure of funds therefor; and providing an effective date (File 6852- awarded to Robert Half International, Inc., in the three (3) year not-to-exceed amount of $300,000). INFORMATION /BACKGROUND This is for temporary employment services to be utilized by various City departments on an as-needed basis. This includes Accounting, Administrative and Clerical support, Information Technology, Procurement, Legal, and Human Resource positions. This year Technology Services, Human Resources, and Materials Management have used these services for vacancies that were open for an extended period of time and difficult to fill as well as for specific technology projects that were time sensitive and required specialized knowledge that was unavailable internally. All of the services will be purchased through the Houston-Galveston Area Council of Governments (H- GAC) Cooperative Purchasing Program Contract# TS06-17. Use of the H-GAC Cooperative Purchasing Network meets State of Texas statutory requirements for competitive bidding (Government Code 271.102). PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS) On June 6, 1995, Council approved the interlocal agreement with the H-GAC Cooperative Purchasing Network (Ordinance 1995-107). RECOMMENDATION Award a contract with Robert Half International Inc., for Temporary Labor Services, in a three (3) year not- to-exceed amount of $300,000. This amount is based on estimated quantities of the past history, and a contingency for additional positions that may be added during the contract period. City Hall 215 E. FISCAL INFORMATION The job positions provided through this contract will be funded from departments operating accounts. Purchase order will be issued as the services are needed.
