SUBJECT
Consider adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation,
authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with 5205 Limited Partnership, dba HCI, for cellular
DAS, GPS signal repeater systems & cell boosters for Technology Services; providing for the expenditure
of funds therefor; and providing an effective date (IFB 8040 – awarded to 5205 Limited Partnership, dba
HCI, for three (3) years, with the option for two (2) additional one (1) year extensions, in the total five (5)
year not-to-exceed amount of $500,000.00).
INFORMATION/BACKGROUND
Fire station in-building cellular and GPS signal coverage can be challenging. Signal boosters installed in
the building help to overcome these limitations. Three (3) booster antennas have been installed in three (3)
of the City’s eight (8) fire stations and they work extremely well. The remaining fire stations will have this
equipment installed upon approval of the contract. Additionally, the contract will provide cellular boosting
coverage on other City of Denton buildings.
Below is an estimated five (5) year expenditure to equip the remaining fire stations.

Invitation for Bids was sent to 127 prospective suppliers, including 4 Denton firms, of this item. In addition,
specifications were placed on the Procurement website for prospective suppliers to download and advertised
in the local newspaper Three (3) bids meeting specifications were received. The lowest bid was received
by 5205 Limited Partnership, dba HCI.

ESTIMATED SCHEDULE OF PROJECT
This is an initial three (3) year contract with options to extend the contract for two (2) additional one (1)

FISCAL INFORMATION
These products and services will be funded through the using department's budget on an as-needed basis.
The City will only pay for services rendered and is not obligated to pay the full contract amount unless
needed.
