Exhibit 1 - Agenda Information Sheet - CTCCity of Denton _____________________________________________________________________________________ AGENDA INFORMATION SHEET DEPARTMENT: Procurement CFO: Cassey Ogden DATE: December 13, 2022 SUBJECT Consider adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation, authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with Consolidated Traffic Controls, Inc., for the purchase of traffic hardware and signals, Section B – Crossing Systems and Section C – Miscellaneous, to be stocked in the City of Denton Warehouse; providing for the expenditure of funds therefor; and providing an effective date (IFB 8090 – awarded to Consolidated Traffic Controls, Inc., for one (1) year, with the option for two (2) additional one (1) year extensions, in the total three (3) year not-to-exceed amount of $1,350,000.00). INFORMATION/BACKGROUND Traffic Signals and Hardware allow for safe vehicle and foot traffic across intersections. These signals also work to flow traffic through the city using LED signals and signs as visual indicators to the end users. Vehicle detection systems and sensors are used to help the signals know when vehicles are present at the intersections. The hardware on this IFB supports the use of these systems. These traffic signals and hardware are stocked in the Warehouse and used on an as-needed basis. Invitation for Bids was sent to 81 prospective suppliers of this item, including four (4) Denton firms. In addition, specifications were placed on the Procurement website for prospective suppliers to download and advertised in the local newspaper. Three (3) bids meeting specifications were received. The lowest bid was received by Consolidated Traffic Controls, Inc. for Sections B and C. FISCAL INFORMATION These items will be funded from Distribution Center Working Capital account and charged back to the using department. The budgeted amount for this item is $1,350,000. The City will only pay for services rendered and is not obligated to pay the full contract amount unless needed.
