SUBJECT
Consider adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation,
authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with GPI TX-DCIV, INC DBA Denton Chrysler Dodge
Jeep Ram, for Ford and Dodge repairs for the Fleet Department; providing for the expenditure of funds
therefor; and providing an effective date (IFB-BV 8146 – awarded to GPI TX-DCIV, INC DBA Denton
Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, for three (3) years, with the option for two (2) additional one (1) year extensions,
in the total five (5) year not-to-exceed amount of $1,400,000.00).
INFORMATION/BACKGROUND
This request is to award a contract for Ford and Dodge repair services to Denton Dodge for various City of
Denton departments. The City currently owns 67 Ford and 39 Dodge vehicles. Denton Dodge has been
selected as the vendor for repairing Ford and Dodge sedans, SUVs, and light, medium, and heavy-duty
pickup trucks based on their submitted hourly rates for service costs. Denton Dodge meets all requirements
the City has asked for, including repairs being completed by certified Ford and Dodge repair technicians
and being ASE certified. Denton Dodge has done quality work for the City of Denton.

Invitation for Bids for Best Value was sent to 68 prospective suppliers of this item, including nine (9)
Denton firms. In addition, specifications were placed on the Procurement website for prospective suppliers
to download and advertised in the local newspaper. One (1) bid was received, and references were checked
to ensure the vendor can provide the services requested in the Scope of Work. The proposal was evaluated
based upon published criteria including price, probable performance, and compliance with specifications.
The department is awarding the contract to GPI TX-DCIV, INC DBA Denton Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.

ESTIMATED SCHEDULE OF PROJECT
This is an initial three (3) year contract with options to extend the contract for two (2) additional one (1)
year periods, with all terms and conditions remaining the same.
FISCAL INFORMATION
These products and services will be funded through the using department’s budget on an as-needed basis.
The City will only pay for services rendered and is not obligated to pay the full contract amount unless
needed.
