SUBJECT
Adoption of a contract with Technology Assets, LLC dba Global Asset, through The Interlocal Purchasing
System (TIPS) Cooperative Program Contract Number #200105, under the Government Code, Chapter
791.001, to authorize additional funds to City of Denton contracts for PC Refresh Deployment Services for
Technology Services Departments; providing for expenditures of funds therefor; and providing an effective
date (File 8228 – awarded to Technology Assets, LLC dba Global Asset, in the not-to-exceed amount of
$49,000).
BACKGROUND
Chapter 271.102 of the Local Government Code authorizes local governments to participate in a cooperative
purchasing program with another local government or local cooperative organization. In lieu of competitive
bidding, items and services may be purchased through such agreements as the agreements have already
been bid by the sponsoring entity or agency. By doing this as a cooperative effort, the combined purchasing
usage of these entities was utilized to realize competitive pricing and reduced administrative costs of
individual bidding.
This contract includes a 22% discount on various technology solutiuon services and a 10% discount on
Microsoft engineering services.
On May 17, 2011, Council approved the interlocal agreement with The Interlocal Purchasing System
(Ordinance 2011-082).
The agreement, Contract Number #200105, began May 5, 2020 with a termination date of May 31, 2024.
RECOMMENDATION
Award a contract with Technology Assets, LLC dba Global Asset, for PC Refresh Deployment Services for
Technology Services Departments, in the not-to-exceed amount of $49,000.
ESTIMATED SCHEDULE OF PROJECT
TIPS Contract Number #200105 expires on May 31, 2024.
