Young Senior Park is a neighborhood park that provides a range of amenities for residents, including a playground, basketball court, park furnishings, splashpad, and restroom facilities. The first phase of the splashpad was completed in May 2018. On March 1, 2022, City Council adopted the Parks, Recreation, and Trails System Master Plan (PRTSM), which serves as a vital framework for the future planning of the Parks and Recreation Department. The PRTSM emphasizes the importance of enhancing and expanding the existing splashpad at Carl Young Sr. Park and recommends the addition of more interactive features. Furthermore, both the community and City Council have expressed the desire for an expanded splashpad. Hence, at the start of the current fiscal year, City Council allocated funding from the American Rescue Plan Act for several Park Projects, among them being Phase 2 of the Carl Young Sr. Splashpad.
