SUBJECT
Consider adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation,
authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with United Ag and Turf, an authorized dealer for Deere
& Company, through the Sourcewell Cooperative Purchasing Network Contract Number 031121-DAC, for
the purchase of mowers, utility vehicles, and attachments for the Fleet Department; authorizing the
expenditure of funds therefor; and providing an effective date (File 8299 – awarded to United Ag and Turf,
in the three (3) year not-to-exceed amount of $1,500,000.00).
INFORMATION/BACKGROUND
This request is in consideration of a three (3) year contract with United Ag and Turf to provide City
operating departments with various models of mowers, utility vehicles, and attachments as needed. Assets
purchased through this contract will be replacements and fleet additions approved by Fleet Services and
through the budget process.
The requested equipment will be used to maintain City infrastructure by departments such as Parks, Solid
Waste, Wastewater Collections, and others.
United Ag and Turf sells direct to customers and provides cooperative contract pricing on Sourcewell
contract number 031121-DAC.
3-year Replacements $1,100,000
3-year Additions $200,000
Contingency $200,000
Total $1,500,000
Pricing obtained through Sourcewell Cooperative Purchasing Network has been competitively bid and
meets the statutory requirements of Texas Local Government Code 271.102.
PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS)
On January 28, 2020, City Council approved the interlocal agreement with Sourcewell (Ordinance 20-197).
On August 14, 2023, this item will be presented to the Public Utilities Board (PUB) for consideration.

This is a three (3) year contract. This Sourcewell contract expires on April 30, 2025.
FISCAL INFORMATION
These products and services will be funded through the using department’s budget on an as-needed basis.
The City will only pay for services rendered and is not obligated to pay the full contract amount unless
needed.
