Exhibit 1 - Agenda Information Sheet Amendment 1City of Denton _____________________________________________________________________________________ AGENDA INFORMATION SHEET DEPARTMENT: Procurement ACM: Cassey Ogden DATE: September 26, 2023 SUBJECT Consider adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation, authorizing the approval of a first amendment to a contract between the City of Denton and RSVP Services, Inc., amending the contract approved by City Council on March 22, 2022, in the not-to-exceed amount of $2,327,021.00; said first amendment to provide additional veterinary services for the Linda McNatt Animal Care and Adoption Center; providing for the expenditure of funds therefor; and providing an effective date (RFP 7895 – providing for an additional first amendment expenditure amount not-to-exceed $581,755.25, with the total contract amount not-to-exceed $2,908,776.25). INFORMATION/BACKGROUND The Linda McNatt Animal Care and Adoption Center has been open since February 2015. The 15,000- square-foot building includes a veterinary surgical suite for neutering procedures and general medical care for animals housed in the facility. On March 22, 2022, the City Council approved a contract with RSVP Services, Inc., in the not-to-exceed amount of $2,327,021 (Ordinance 22-542). This contract is to provide staffing for the veterinary suite and manages personnel aspects of a licensed Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and a Certified Veterinary Technician for a specific number of hours/shifts each week at the facility including unscheduled urgent care for animals coming into the facility outside of regular business hours and during hours when the in-house DVM is not on site. The City of Denton is seeking to amend the current contract with RSVP to expand the number of hours of service for both the licensed Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Certified Veterinary Technician services. This will allow Certified Veterinary Technicians to perform the intake process for all animals which includes a physical assessment of the animal’s health and immediate consultation with the DVM. Currently, intakes are being processed by animal shelter staff. RECOMMENDATION Award Amendment No. 1 with RSVP Services, Inc., for additional veterinary services for the Linda McNatt Animal Care and Adoption Center, in a not-to-exceed amount of $581,755.25, for a total amended contract amount of $ 2,908,776.25. PRINCIPAL PLACE OF BUSINESS RSVP Services, Inc. Denton, TX ESTIMATED SCHEDULE OF PROJECT This contract expires on March 21, 2026.
