SUBJECT
Consider adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation,
authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with SBM Premier Services, LLC dba SERVPRO of
Denton, through The Interlocal Purchasing System (TIPS) Cooperative Program Contract Nos. 22050101
and 22050102, for Disaster Restoration and Emergency Services for various City buildings for the Facilities
Management Department; providing for the expenditure of funds therefor; and providing an effective date
(File 8324 – awarded to SBM Premier Services, LLC dba SERVPRO of Denton, for three (3) years, with
the option for two (2) additional one (1) year extensions, in the total five (5) year not-to-exceed amount of
$2,000,000.00).

INFORMATION/BACKGROUND
The proposed contract is for Disaster Restoration and Emergency Services at various City facilities. These
services may include goods and non-construction services that assist with flood damage mitigation and
restoration; natural disaster (tornado, hurricane, hail, wind, etc.) damage mitigation and restoration; fire and
smoke damage mitigation and restoration; sewer cleanup; mold and mildew damage; biohazard; hazardous
waste cleanup; unforeseen or emergency restoration of items or facilities in response to vandalism or
human-caused destruction whether intentional or otherwise, and; unforeseen or emergency restoration of
items or facilities in response to discovery of dangerous or concerning conditions of items or facilities.
Pricing obtained through The Interlocal Purchasing System has been competitively bid and meets the
statutory requirements of Texas Local Government Code 271.102.
PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS)
On May 17, 2011, City Council approved the interlocal agreement with The Interlocal Purchasing System
(Ordinance 2011-082).

Award a contract with SBM Premier Services, LLC dba SERVPRO of Denton, for Disaster Restoration and
Emergency Services for various City buildings for the Facilities Management Department, in a three (3)

ESTIMATED SCHEDULE OF PROJECT
This is an initial three (3) year contract with options to extend the contract for two (2) additional one (1)
year periods, with all terms and conditions remaining the same.
FISCAL INFORMATION
These services will be funded from Outside Contracted Services account 880200.6545. Requisitions will
be entered on an as-needed basis. The budgeted amount for this item is $2,000,000.00. The City will only
pay for services rendered and is not obligated to pay the full contract amount unless needed.
