SUBJECT
Consider adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation,
authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with Fisher Scientific Company L.L.C., through the
Omnia Partners Cooperative Purchasing Network Contract # 2021002889, for the procurement of general
laboratory supplies for the Municipal Laboratory and Water Production Laboratory; providing for the
expenditure of funds therefor; and providing an effective date (File 8371 – awarded to Fisher Scientific
Company L.L.C., in the three (3) year not-to-exceed amount of $230,000.00).

INFORMATION/BACKGROUND
This contract is requested to all the Municipal Laboratory and Water Production Laboratory the ability to
source general laboratory supplies and take advantage of the discounts provided by the cooperative
agreement with Fisher Scientific. The laboratory has used Fisher Scientific as a vendor and found this
vendor to be responsive and dependable.

RECOMMENDATION
Award a contract with Fisher Scientific Company L.L.C., for the procurement of general laboratory supplies
for the Municipal Laboratory and Water Production Laboratory, in a three (3) year not-to-exceed amount
of $230,000.
SUSTAINABILITY MEASURES
Relationship to Sustainability Framework: Water
• Goal 1: The Municipal Laboratory continues to support Water Production, Water Distribution,
Watershed, Industrial Pretreatment, Beneficial Reuse, and Wastewater Treatment by providing
water quality monitoring and process relevant data.
• Goal 2: The laboratory routinely provides reports to internal customers and permits compliance
reports to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
• Goal 3: Continue to provide drinking water quality monitoring and wastewater compliance
monitoring.

ESTIMATED SCHEDULE OF PROJECT
This is a three (3) year contract. This Omnia contract expires on June 30, 2025.
FISCAL INFORMATION
These products and services will be funded through the using department’s budget on an as-needed basis.
The City will only pay for services rendered and is not obligated to pay the full contract amount unless
needed.
