AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, A TEXAS HOME-RULE MUNI(_’IPAL
CORPORATION,AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TOEXECUTEA CONTRACT WITH
THOMPSONSAFETYLLC, FOR FIRST AID CABINETS, EYEWASH AND SHOWER
STATION INSPECTIONS,AND SHARPSCONTAINERS FORTHESAFETY DEPARTMENT:
PROVIDING FOR THE EXPENDITUREOF FUNDS THEREFOR;AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVEDATE (RFP8340– AWARDED TOTHOMPSON SAFETY LLC, FOR THREE (3)
YEARS, WITH THE OPTIONFORTWO (2)ADDITIONAL ONE(1)YEAR EXTENSIONS, IN
THE TOTAL FIVE (5) YEAR NOT-TO-EXCEED AMOUNT OF $287,500.00).
WHEREAS, the City hassolicited, received, andevaluated competitive proposals for first aid
cabinets,eyewashandshower stationinspections,andsharpscontainersfor the Safety Department;and
WHEREAS, the City Manager,or a designatedemployee, hasreceived, reviewed, and
recommended that the herein described proposals arethe most advantageous to the City considering
the relative importance of price andthe other evaluation factors included in the requestfor proposals;and
WHEREAS, this procurementwas undertakenaspart of the City’s governmental
function; and
WHEREAS,theCity Councilhasprovidedin theCity Budgetfortheappropriationof funds
to beusedfor the purchaseof the materials, equipment, supplies, or services approved and acceptedherein;NOW,THEREFORE,
THE COUNCILOFTHECITY OFDENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. The items in the following numberedrequestfor proposal for materials,
equipment,supplies,or servicesshown in the “Request Proposals”on file in the office of the
PurchasingAgent, areherebyacceptedand approvedasbeingthemostadvantageousto the City
consideringthe relative importanceof price andtheother evaluation factors included in the request
for proposals.

SECTION2. That by the acceptanceandapproval of the abovenumbereditems ofthe
submitted proposals, the City acceptsthe offer of the persons submitting the proposals for such items
andagreesto purchasethe materials, equipment, supplies, or services in accordance with the terms,
specifications, standards,quantities, and for the specified sums contained in the Proposal Invitations,
Proposals, and related documents.
SECTION 3. ThatshouldtheCity andpersonsubmitting approvedandaccepteditems wish
to enter into a formal written agreement asa result of the acceptance, approval, and awarding of the
proposals, the City Manager, or their designated representative, is hereby authorized to execute the
written contractwhich shallbeattachedhereto;provided thatthewritten contractisin accordance
with the terms,conditions, specifications, standards,quantities, andspecified sumscontained in the
Proposalandrelated documentsherein approved and accepted.
SECTION4. The City Council of the City of Dentonherebyexpresslydelegatesthe
authorityto takeanyactionsthatmaybe requiredorpermittedto beperformedbythe City of
Denton under this ordinanceto the City Manager of the City of Denton, or their designee.
SECTION5. By the acceptanceand approvalof the aboveenumeratedbids, the City
Council hereby authorizesthe expenditure of funds therefor in the amount andin accordancewith
theapprovedbids.
SECTION 6. This ordinanceshall becomeeffective immediately upon its passageand
approval.
