Exhibit 1 - Agenda Information SheetCity of Denton _____________________________________________________________________________________ AGENDA INFORMATION SHEET DEPARTMENT: Procurement ACM: Cassey Ogden DATE: December 12, 2023 SUBJECT Consider adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation, authorizing the City Manager to execute an Interlocal Cooperative Purchasing Agreement with the Texas Woman’s University, under the Texas Government Code, Section 791.001, to authorize the City of Denton to utilize Texas Woman’s University pre-employment physical assessments for the City of Denton Police Department; authorizing the expenditure of funds therefor; and declaring an effective date (File 8390 – award an Interlocal Cooperative Purchasing Agreement with the Texas Woman’s University for one (1) year, with the option for two (2) additional one (1) year extensions, in the total three (3) year not-to-exceed amount of $49,500.00). INFORMATION/BACKGROUND The proposed contract is for pre-employment physical assessments for the Denton Police Department. The agreement will establish a long-term fixed price for services and allow the Police Department to continue to appropriately screen prospective applicants who apply for the position of police recruit along with prospective officers with other agencies applying through our lateral hiring process per our Meet and Confer agreement. The Police Department’s prior contract for these services is no longer available as the former vendor, Texas Health Hughley, no longer provides these services as of September 30, 2023. The proposed agreement contains a list of specific medical tests and services to be provided by Texas Woman’s University located at their facility. This includes but is not limited to, a physical examination, Body Mass Index, Body Composition, Bone Density Scan by DXA, Muscle Fitness Testing (Flexibility, Muscle Strength, Core Endurance), Cardiac Stress Test (VO2 Max, Aerobic Endurance), Vision Exam, Hearing Exam, and Respiratory Function Testing. RECOMMENDATION Award an Interlocal Cooperative Purchasing Agreement with Texas Woman’s University for pre- employment physical assessments for the City of Denton Police Department, in a one (1) year, with the option for two (2) additional one (1) year extensions, in the total three (3) year not-to-exceed amount of $49,500.00). PRINCIPAL PLACE OF BUSINESS Texas Woman’s University Denton, TX ESTIMATED SCHEDULE OF PROJECT This is an initial one (1) year contract with options to extend the contract for two (2) additional one (1) year periods, with all terms and conditions remaining the same. FISCAL INFORMATION These services will be funded from Police Department Operating Funds. Requisitions will be entered on an as-needed basis. The City will only pay for services rendered and is not obligated to pay the full contract amount unless needed.
