Addendum #1 to be returned with RFP Proposal
The following are the discussion key points shared during the Pre-Submittal
Conference:
The most common type of copper installation is Category 6; however, 6A
may become more common in the future.
This contract only involves the fiber installation inside a building. Denton
Municipal Electric is responsible for the fiber installation in between
buildings.
There will be television installs on occasion.
The wireless and security camera installation are becoming more frequent
at the City of Denton.
Shielding will be required for cameras.
The specified project work involves new facility acquisition or new
construction.
While standardization at the City is important, the City is open to review
and consider alternative and equivalent brands. The brands listed in the
specifications are the preferred brands.
Mounting equipment can be asked to be a part of the labor cost.
City staff will review and consider submitted requests to utilize
subcontractors. While it is not preferred due to past negative experiences,
City staff will evaluate and consider all proposals.
Generally, the day-to-day expectations are in between two to five drops.
As projects are approved, expectations can increase and drops can
increase to 10 drops per day.
The City’s expectation for response time is very important, even if it is for 1
to 2 drops, within 24 to 48 hours. When possible, City staff will try to group
together small jobs into one call to the contractor.
