Background
•The proposed contract is for the supply of medium voltage manual and automated, dead-front, pad-mounted
switchgears (PME), Vista Gears, Reclosers, and overhead automatic Gang Operated Air Break (GOAB) Switches,
TripSavers, and associated spare parts for DME’s electric distribution system.
•These items are critical in the daily operation and system reliability of DME, this equipment allows DME to switch
distribution load and isolate faults.
•DME’s system is growing, which leads to the need for additional switch components and facilitates automation.
•DME has seen increased lead times from 1 year to over 5 years along with a 50% increase in price of these assets.
•Items will be funded from the Warehouse Capital Budget (account 800100.6801).
