6304 - Denton Energy Center Waterline Phase 1, Addendum 1ADDENDUM NUMBER 1 TO PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS AND CONTRACT DOCUMENTS FOR CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL RFP 6304 CONSTRUCTION OF DENTON ENERGY CENTER (DEC) WATER LINE IMPROVEMENTS PHASE 1 Issued December 22, 2016 TO: PROSPECTIVE PROPOSERS AND PLAN HOLDERS The Plans and Specifications for RFP 6304 CONSTRUCTION OF DENTON ENERGY CENTER (DEC) WATER LINE IMPROVEMENTS PHASE 1 shall be modified as follows: Item 1 EXHIBIT 1 - RFP 6304 Pricing Sheet for Water Line Improvements – Phase 1 DME Denton Energy Center Replace with the attached revised Exhibit 1 Clarification – If the Alternative as shown in the RFP is selected by the City, the associated Base Proposal items will be deducted from the project prior to award. The deduction of Base Proposal items associated with selecting the Alternative shall not effect unit prices shown in the Base Proposal. Item 2 EXHIBIT 4 - Water Line Improvement Drawings Replace sheet C1-04 with the attached sheet C1-04 Item 3 CLARIFICATIONS City water is available at the location of the connection to existing. See Exhibit 3, Technical Specifications, I. General Requirements of the Contractor, M. Water Used for Construction for Contractor responsibilities. There is an existing shutoff valve near the location of the connection to existing. Also there is an existing shutoff valve approximately 1860 feet upstream of the connection to existing if required for isolation. The Contractor shall provide necessary fittings and blocking as required to isolate the existing water line and make the connection to existing. Flushing and testing of the water line improvements can be performed once the total length of water line has been installed. Water Line improvements adjacent to the Denton Energy Center shall be construct first at the start of the project. This would be from about station 41+00 to station 52+28.20. Suitable soil spoils from trench excavation during the water line improvements can either be transported to the spoils site just north of the Denton Energy Center as directed by the engineer or spread out on the adjacent field along the alignment of the project as directed by the engineer. Unsuitable material shall be hauled off site by the contractor. The engineer shall determine the suitability of the soil spoils. A Geotechnical Report was prepared for the Denton Energy Center Project site. The geotechnical report can be reviewed at the City of Denton. Contact Karen E. No Builders’ Risk Insurance will be required for this project. The Contractor awarded the project shall be required to attend a 1 hour safety meeting with the Denton Energy Center Contractor, Burns & McDonnell. All other items and provisions of the contract documents not modified herein shall remain the same.
