6320 - Trucking Services for Beneficial Reuse, 3.Statement of Work/ Specifications The scope of work shall be finalized upon the selection of the Firm. The respondent’s submission shall have accurately described your understanding of the objectives and scope of the requested products and services and provided an outline of your process to implement the requirements of the Scope of Work and Services. The City of Denton’s Beneficial Reuse Department is a composting/mulch operation which produces six (6) bulk products for a variety of landscape applications. They are listed as follows: Dyno Dirt - a biosolids and yard waste compost – avg. weight 1,000 lbs. per yard Dyno Soil - a 60/40 Dyno Dirt and Sandy Soil blend – avg. weight 1500 lbs. per yard Dyno Lite – a yard waste compost – avg. weight 1,000 lbs. per yard Dyno Landscape Mulch – composted mulch made of 80% woodchips & 20% Dyno Dirt – avg. weight 850 lbs per yard Dyno Double Grind – a mulch made from recycled brush – avg. weight 500 lbs per yard Dyno Deco-Colored Mulch – the Double Grind material painted black, brown and red – avg. weight 500 per yard. Weight of the above listed may vary depending on moisture content. SCOPE OF WORK: The Beneficial Reuse Department supplies compost/mulch products, known as Dyno Dirt products to various customers in the Dallas/Fort Worth (D/FW)area. Beneficial Reuse would like to better serve their customers, by offering trucking services for those customers purchasing product, who need delivery services. CITY OF DENTON RESPONSIBILITIES City of Denton will be responsible for loading of materials to be hauled, into the contractor supplied trucks. City of Denton will bill the Customer for delivery charges and pay the contractor for services. CONTRACTOR’S RESPONSIBILITIES Contractor will haul bulk Dyno Dirt materials to the designated customer address. Destination will vary subject to job site location. Hauling services will be from the Beneficial Reuse Composting operation site (1100 S. Mayhill Rd, Denton TX 76208) to various job sites within the North Texas area. Contractor shall be able to provide requested trucking services within one week for an order up to 500 cubic yards (5 business days) or within seven days delivery for orders greater than 500 cubic yards (7 business days). Contractor shall be able to respond with adequate trucking capacity to complete the job. As a minimum, tandem trucks and end dump trailers with 20 yard capacity, are acceptable for hauling materials. On an average, City of Denton will have one to two deliveries per month. Deliveries less than 100 mile radius: It is estimated that the majority of the deliveries will be less than 100 miles from Beneficial Reuse; an estimated 10,000 miles or less annually or less for delivering an estimated 10,000 cubic yards or less of products. Deliveries greater than 100 mile but less than 249 mile radius: It is estimated that the majority of deliveries will be greater than 100 miles but less than 249 miles from Beneficial Reuse, at an estimated 500 miles or less annually or less for shipping an estimated 5,000 cubic yards or less of products. Contractor shall maintain proper registration and full compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations for all equipment and personnel utilized under this contract. Contractor shall be able to provide proof of insurance as listed in attached City of Denton Insurance Requirements. Before arrival for pickup of materials at the City, truck beds should be clean from any other previous materials hauled, so as not to mix materials. Contractor’s cost per mile rate shall start upon “Check in” at Beneficial Reuse Compost Operation Site, (1100 S. Mayhill Rd, Denton TX, 76208; (940)349-8290) and end upon delivery of product at the customer’s job site/ delivery location. The delivery ticket will have the signature from a Beneficial Reuse Operations Representative, the trucking company and the customer confirming delivery. Contractor shall include all costs including, but not limited to, equipment, labor, supervision, fees, permits, insurance cost of equipment operation and qualified drivers in proposal pricing. Invoices will be sent to City of Denton, with supporting delivery ticket reflecting beginning and ending and mileage. Representative(s) from the Contractor shall be responsible for determining if a load site and/or dumpsite is suitable for proper operation of equipment.
