MCKINNEY STREET PROJECT NO. NMA 16016 City of Denton RFP No. 6273 November 28, 2016 1.1 GENERAL: A. This addendum consisting of 2 pages supersedes plans and information dated October 24, 2016. Project bid date is still December 1, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. B. This addendum is issued to: 1. Address questions received from contractors. C. No drawing Sheets will be reissued. D. The following deletions and/or corrections and/or additions are a part of the bid documents. 1.2 CLARIFICATIONS: The following items are clarifications and answers to questions received during the pre-bid and afterwards from General Contractors and prospective bidders. These are the responses for each as follows: 1. What is the depth the Foundations will be required to be removed? Response: Remove all structure from the lowest basement slab upward. This will include any pits, recesses, etc. in the basement floor and concrete foundations. Concrete piers that extend below the bottom of the basement floor slab, any plumbing and assorted mechanical items below the elevation of the basement floor slab can remain. 2. After the demolition and site clearing is completed how long is the Site fencing required to be in place? Response: The fence is to remain as long as there are any open pits or holes. As soon as the basement is filled in the fences may be removed. 3. Can the site fencing be chain link fence panels on stand with sand bags or does it need to be chain link fencing with post in ground? After the demolition and site clearing is completed how long will the contractor be required to provide maintenance and inspections to the SWPPP? Response: The project is subject to inspections by the City. 5. Will the city remove the SWPPP after it is no longer needed or will it be the responsibility of the contractor? Response: No, the contractor will be responsible to remove it. 6. In the specifications, it states that the contractor will be required to provide maintenance to sod and seeding 30 days after installation, will the contractor be responsible for any maintenance of the landscape after 30 days? Response: As explained during the pre-bid, the contractor will finish grade the site and provide the required topsoil and sod over the entire area. The city will furnish and install a temporary irrigation system and will assume responsibility for the establishment of the sod after the installation is accepted by the City. 7. After the demolition and site clearing is completed how long is the tree protection required to be in place? Response: The tree protection shall remain in place as long as there are activities that could harm the trees taking place. Once the demolition and clearing is finished, and upon approval by the City Urban Forester, tree protection may be removed. 8. In Specification 1.07 B./1. It state “Removal of septic Tanks and Cisterns” are there existing septic tanks and cisterns required to be removed? Response: None that we are aware of. 9. Will a surety or security bid bond be required? Response: a. Performance and Payment Bonds: The successful awarded contractor will be required to furnish performance and payment bonds for 100 percent of the total submission price before work is to commence. Refer to Item #20 in Exhibit #2 (City Terms and Conditions). b. Bid bond: A bid bond is not required for submission of a response to this Request for Proposals. END OF ADDENDUM NO. 1
