AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO 96-076 BY AUTHORIZING ASSIGN-
MENT PAY FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEE IN THE CLASSIFICATION OF
CAPTAIN WHO IS ALSO ASSIGNED TO PERFORM THE DUTIES OF INFORMATION
MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR, PROVIDING A REPEALER CLAUSE, AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, Section 143 042 of the Local Government Code authorizes a municipality to pay
assignment pay which is in an amount and is payable under conditions set by ordinance, and
WHEREAS, the assignment pay for the classification of Captain in the Fire Department
authorized by Ordinance No 96-076 needs to be changed, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and Fire Chief having recommended that the Fire Department
employee in the classification of Captain who is assigned to perform the duties of Information
Management Coordinator should receive assignment pay of Two Hundred Fifty Dollars and No
Cents ($250 00) per month, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SE!;TIONI That the Fire Department employee classified as Captain who is assigned to
perform the duties of Information Management Coordinator shall receive assignment pay of Two
Hundred Fifty Dollars and No Cents ($250 00) per month in addition to the regular monthly salary
of Captain
SECTION H That this ordinance shall amend and replace Ordinance No 96-076, and
Ordinance No 96-076 is hereby repealed and is of no further force and effect
SEQTION III That this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval �7
