AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS PROHIBITING U-TURNS ON
CERTAIN PORTIONS OF WOOD STREET ON SCHOOL DAYS, PROHIBITING PARKING
ON CERTAIN PORTIONS OF WOOD STREET ON SCHOOL DAYS, PROVIDING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION THEREOF, PROVIDING FOR A
PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS, AND DECLARING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I. When signs are erected giving notice thereof, no person shall make a U-turn from
7 00 AM until 5 00 P M Monday through Friday on school days on Wood Street from its
intersection with Davis Street north for three hundred feet (300 feet)
SECTION H. When signs are erected giving notice thereof, no person shall park a vehicle from
7 00 A M until 5 00 P M Monday through Friday on school days on the following portions of Wood
Street
The west side of Wood Street from its intersection with Davis Street north for two
hundred sixty five feet (265 feet)
The east side of Wood Street from its intersection with Davis Street north for fifty feet (50
feet)
SECTION III That if any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word in
this ordmance, or application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid by any court of
competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the validity of the remammg portions of this
ordinance, and the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas, hereby declares it would have enacted
such remaining portions despite any such invalidity
SECTION IV. Any person who shall violate a provision of this ordinance, shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor punishable by a fine not exceeding Two Hundred Dollars ($200 00)
SECTION V. That this ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14) days from the date of its
passage, and the City Secretary is hereby directed to cause the caption of this ordinance to be published
twice in the Denton Record-Chromcle, the official newspaper of the City of Denton, Texas, within ten
(10) days of the date of its passage
