AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, FOR
THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING ON OCTOBER 1, 1998, AND ENDING ON SEPTEMBER
30, 1999, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, notice of a public hearing on the budget for the City of Denton, Texas, for the
fiscal year 1998-99 was heretofore published at least fifteen (15) days in advance of said public
heanng, and
WHEREAS, a public hearing on the said budget was duly held on September 1, 1998, and all
interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard for or against any item thereof, NOW,
THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I. That the budget for the City of Denton, Texas for the fiscal year beginning on
October 1, 1998, and ending on September 30, 1999 prepared by the City Manager and filed with
the City Secretary, as amended by the City Council, is hereby approved and adopted, a copy of
which budget is attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein
SECTION H. That the City Council hereby appropriates from available resources to the
following funds

SECTION III. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to transfer the amounts of money
for employee benefit and salary adjustments as contained in the 1998-99 budget to the various
departments
ECTION IV That the City Manager shall cause copies of the budget to be filed with the
City Secretary and County Clerk of Denton County
SECTION V. That this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval
