The transformer a required for both generation andawahary power supply to the unit. With the ttansfom er failed and out of service, the unit is mcapable of generating electdoity for the Denton system and the powerhouse is without auxthary power Loss of the Lewisville generation rapments an inwentental power supply cost totaling over $7,000 per weak. Additionally, the hydro site is without normal auxihaty power supply Under this configuration, the pumping systems are, moperative, A temporety auxiliary power hon has been mstallod tq permit essential low voltage services for oommumcatton and alarms for the remote facility Thera is some risk associated with maintaining the faoihty under these conditions as flooding of the powerhouse could result if abnormal leakage were to occur. For these reasons, vendors ware contacted for estimates and schedules to repair the transformer We iecerved quptimm From several transformer repair facilities Granville Transformer Co provided the lowest estimate for worst an repave, sad provided the quickest turn around repair time. The Greenville eider totaled $25,200 with turrmamumd at 6-g weeks Tho next lowest vendor quoted $29.844 with 8-10 week to naround.IQ otdtion for anew transformer totaled $37,106, with a 10-12 week turn around. Our recommendation to repair is based on lowest coot and quickest turn around.
