ORDINANCE NO 429 / P
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE TAXATION OF PROPERTY EXEMPT UNDER
ARTICLE VIII, SECTION 1-j, TEXAS CONSTITUTION BEGINNING WITH THE
1990 TAX YEAR, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City of Denton finds that the taxation of certain
goods, wares, ores, and other tangible personal property that is
forwarded out of this state within 175 days of its acquisition or
importation into this state is in the public interest, NOW,
THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I All of that property described in the Texas
Constitution, Article VIII, Sec 1-j, shall be fully taxable in the
City of Denton beginning January 1, 1990
SECTION II That the Council hereby announces its intent that
all of that property described in the Texas Constitution, Article
VIII Section 1-7, shall be exempt from taxation beginning January
1, 1991
SECTION III That this ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and approval /n1

AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO 89-188, TO PROVIDE FOR
RESCISSION OF THE TAXATION OF PROPERTY OTHERWISE EXEMPT UNDER
ARTICLE VIII, SECTION 1-j, TEXAS CONSTITUTION, BEGINNING WITH THE
1991 TAX YEAR, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, Ordinance No 89-188, provided for the taxation of
property otherwise exempt under Article VIII, Section 1-j of the
Texas Constitution, beginning with tax year 1990, and
WHEREAS, in order to promote economic development within the
City of Denton, the City Council believes it would be in the best
interest to rescind the tax imposed by reason of Ordinance NO 89-
188 beginning with tax year 1991, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I That Ordinance No 89-188 is repealed, so that in
accordance with Article VIII, Section 1-j of the Texas
Constitution, the property therein described and located in the
City of Denton shall be exempt from taxation beginning January 1,
1991
SECTION II That this ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and approval
