AN ORDINANCE CANVASSING THE RETURNS AND DECLARING THE RESULTS OF
THE REGULAR MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF DENTON ON MAY
7, 1988
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I The City Council finds and declares that the May
7, 19 regu ar municipal election was duly ordered for the
purpose of electing two Councilpersons and the Mayor to Places
5, 6, and 7, that proper notice of said election was duly given
and election officials appointed, that said election was duly
held and the returns of the election officials have been
delivered to the Council, all in accordance with the laws of the
State of Texas and the Charter and ordinances of the City of
Denton
SECTION II The official returns of the election officials
having been opened, examined and canvassed, the Council hereby
finds and declares that 3,610 votes were cast at said election,
and that the votes cast for each place on the Council were as
follows

SECTION III The Council finds and declares that each
candidate listed below received a majority of the votes cast for
each place on the Council and that each candidate listed below is
hereby declared to be elected to the City Council of the City of
Denton
