AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I Based upon an engineering and traffic investiga-
tion ereto ore made as authorized by the provisions of Section
169, Article 6701d, V T C S , the following prima facie speed
limits for east and west bound traffic on U S Highway 380 are
hereby determined and declared to be prima facie reasonable and

west for a total distance of 800 feet, is hereby determined to be
prima facie reasonable and safe, and such speed limit is hereby

SECTION III That 1f any section, subsection, paragraph,
sentence, clause, phrase or word in this ordinance, or application
thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid by any court
of ding

competent urisdiction., such lemaining portions ofthis shall affect
ordnance, and

Council of the City of Denton, Texas, hereby declares it would
have enacted such remaining portions despite any such invalidity
SECTION IV That any person violating any of the provisions of
this or finance shall, upon conviction, be fined a sum not
exceeding One Thousand Dollars ($200 00), and each day and every
day that the provisions of this ordinance are violated shall
constitute a separate and distinct offense This penalty is in
addition to and cumulative of, any other remedies as may be
available at law and equity
SECTION V That this ordinance shall become effective fourteen
(14 ays from the date of its passage, and the City Secretary is
hereby directed to cause the caption of this ordinance to be
published twice in the Denton Record -Chronicle, the official
newspaper of the City of Denton, Texas, within ten (10) days of
the date of its passage
