AN ORDINANCE PERMITTING DENTON FIREFIGHTERS WHO ARE MEMBERS OF
THE DENTON FIREMEN'S RELIEF AND RETIREMENT FUND TO DEFER FEDERAL
INCOME TAXES ON THEIR MONTHLY CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE PENSION FUND
FROM THE TIME CONTRIBUTIONS ARE MADE TO THE LATER TIME BENEFITS
ARE RECEIVED AND DECLARING AN EFFECITVE DATE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS HEREBY ORDAINS
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Denton recognizes
the desirability of enabling its firefighters to defer payment
of a part of their federal income taxes, and
WHEREAS, the State Firemen's Relief and Retirement Law in
H B 1679 by Salinas was amended by the 1983 Session of the
Texas Legislature to permit firefighters to clefer payment of
federal income taxes on their monthly contributions to the
pension fund, and
WHEREAS, the firefighters elected this income tax deferral
option by a majority of the eighty-eight (88) participating
members of the fund, voting by secret ballot, on November 28,
1983 Sixty -Two voted in favor of income tax deferral and
twelve voted against this change The sixty-two voting in favor
constitute a majority of the eighty-eight particpating members
of the fund, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the pension fund is
seeking an Internal Revenue Service determination that the
firefighter's pension plan is a qualified retirement plan under
Section 401 (a) , Federal Internal Revenue Code, and its related
trust is tax exempt under Section 501(a), Federal Internal
Revenue Code, NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL Ok THE CITY OF DENTON
SECTION I
That this ordinance permits firefighters of the City of
Denton, Texas to defer federal income taxes under the terms of
Section 1OF(a) and Section 1OF(b) of the State Firemen's Relief
and Retirement Law is hereby established subject to a favorable
determination by the Internal Revenue Service that the f ire -
fighter's pension plan is a qualified retirement plan

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON CONTEMPLATED ANNEXAIION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN TO ALL INTERESTED PERSONS THAT
The City Of Denton, Texas, proposes to institute annexation
proceedings to alter the boundary limits of said City to add the
following described territory to the corporate limits of the
City of Denton, to -wit
All that certain tract or parcel of land lying and being
situated in the County of Denton, State of Texas, and being part
of the J Fisher Survey# Abstract No 421, B Lewis Survey,
Abstract No 769, M E P & P R R Survey, Abstract No 950, E
Pickett Survey, Abstract No 1018 and the S Hembrie Survey,
Abstract No 643 and being more particularly described as
follows
BEGINNING at a point 5 feet east of and perpendicular to the
east right of way line of Teasley Lane (FM 2181), said point
also lying in the present city limits line as established by
Ordinance No 65-43, Tract III and the southwest corner of the
land described in Ordinance No 74-35,
THENCE south 87039,1111 east along the present city limits as
established by Ordinance No 74-35, a distance of 3559 feet to a
point for a corner, same being the southeast corner of the land
described in Ordinance No 74-35 and the west boundary line of
the land described in Ordinance No 74-34,
THENCE south along the present City limits as established by
Ordinance No 74-34, a distance of approximately 1921 feet, more
or less, to a point, same being the southwest corner of the land
described in Ordinance No 74-34 and the westerly northwest
corner of the land described in Ordinance No 77-16,
THENCE south along the present city limits as established by
Ordinance No 77-18, a distance of 2454 feet to a point for a
corner, same being the southwest corner of the land described in
Ordinance No 77-18,
THENCE north 840191 east along the present city limits as
established by Ordinance NO 77-18, a distance of 3249 71 feet
to a point for a corner, same being the southeast corner of the
land described in Ordinance No 77-18,
THENCE north 20581 east along the present cit/y limits as
established by Ordinance No 77-18, a distance of 792 7 feet to
a point for a corner, said point being the northerly northwest
corner of the land described in Ordinance No 78-28, Exhibit
"C", said point also lying in the southwest right of way line of
state School Road,
THENCE south 21019 east along the southwest right of way line of
State School Road, same being the present city limits as
established by Ordinance No 78-28, Exhibit c", a distance of
172 7 feet to a point for a corner,
THENCE 390181 east along the southwest right of way line of said
road, same being the present city limits as established by
Ordinance No 78-28, Exhibit "C", a distance of 697 1 feet to a
point for a corner;

a point for a corner, said point lying 10 feet west of the
Denton -Corinth common jurisdiction line and also being 10 feet
west and 53 7 feet south of the northwest corner of the L Young
Survey, Abstract No 1451,
THENCE south along the present city limits as established by
Ordinance No 78-28, Exhibit "C", and 10 feet west of and
parallel with the Denton -Corinth common jurisdiction line a
distance of 1651 5 feet to a point for a corner in the north
right of way line of Robinson Road, said point also being 25
feet north of the south boundary line of the S Hembrie Survey,
Abstract No 643,
THENCE south 88*58' west along the present city limits same
being the north right of way line of Robinson Road and 25 feet
nor th 0 f and parallel with the Denton -Corinth common
jurisdiction line a distance of 830 teet to a point for a corner,
THENCE west along the north right Ot way line of Robinson Road a
distance of 4190 78 feet to a point for a corner, said point
lying in the present city limits as established by Ordinance No
65-43, Tract III, said point also lying 5 feet east of and
perpendicular to the east right of way line of Teasley lane (FM
2181),
THENCE north and west along the present city limits which lies 5
feet east of and parallel with the east right of way line of
Teasley Lane (FM 2181) the following 10 courses and distances
(1) north 20071 west 298 5 feet to the beginning ot a curve to
the left with a chord beating and distance of north 18019' west,
827 25 feet, central angle of 320241 and a radius of 1482 57
feet, (2) northwesterly along said curve an arc distance of
838 37 feet, (3) north 34031' west 751 8 feet to the beginning
of a curve to the right with a chord bearing and distance of
north 270561 west 718 9 feet, central angle of 140101 and a
radius of 2914 93 feet, (4) northwesterly along said curve an
arc distance of 720 73 feet, (5) north 200211 west 815 1 feet to
the beginning of a curve to the left with a chord bearing and
