HomeMy WebLinkAbout1982-045145L (8L) NO AN ORDINANCE RESTRICTING THE ALLEY BETWEEN SYCAMORE STREET AND MULBERRY STREET TO ONE-WAY VEHICULAR TRAFFIC, PROHIBITING TRAFFIC FROM SOUTH TO NORTH, PROVIDING A PENALTY OF A FINE NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200 00), PROVIDING A SEVER - ABILITY CLAUSE, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS SECTION I That the alley adjacent to 212 West Sycamore Street from the Denton County Appraisal District Building parking lot to said street and connecting Sycamore Street to Mulberry Street is hereby restricted to one-way vehicular traffic from north to south and traffic from south to north on said alley is hereby prohibited SECTION II That when signs are in place giving notice thereof, an individual adjudged guilty of violating this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and punished by a fine not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200 00) SECTION III That if any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word in this ordinance, or application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance, and the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas, hereby declares it would have enacted such remaining portions despite any such invalidity SECTION IV That this ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14) days from the date of its passage, and the City Secretary is hereby directed to cause the caption of this ordinance to be PAGE ONE published twice in the Denton Record -Chronicle, the official newspaper of the City of Denton?
