HomeMy WebLinkAbout1982-037AN ORDINANCE NAMING A PUBLIC STREET SITUATED WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, APPROXIMATELY 1170 FEET NORTH OF SPENCER ROAD AND INTERSECTING WITH BRIDGES STREET AND MAYHILL ROAD AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, a particular public street situated within the corporate limits of the City of Denton, Texas, approximately 1170 feet north of Spencer Road and intersecting with Bridges Street and Mayhill Road is unnamed, and WHEREAS, the above -mentioned street has been dedicated to the public, having been used by the public continuously as a public right of way for approximately twenty years, and WHEREAS, the City of Denton, Texas has the responsibility of keeping and maintaining said public street, and WHEREAS, Mrs Leroy Barber, adjacent property owner to said public street, has requested that the street be named Gayla Drive, after her granddaughter, now, therefore, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS SECTION I The City Council of the City of Denton, Texas, hereby finds and determines that the public convenience would best be served if that particular street situated within the corporate limits of the City approximately 1170 feet north of Spencer Road and intersecting with Bridges Street and Mayhill Road be named Therefore, said public street shall now and hereafter be known as Gayla Drive, and is hereby named and so designated SECTION II The Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Denton, Texas, is hereby authorized and directed to let that public street herein named Gayla Drive be so designated on the Official Map of the City of Denton, Texas SECTION III This ordinance shall become effective from and after its date of passage and approval PASSED AND APPROVED this the .&A day of'-Z2 p' _, 19 OF DENTON, TEXAS ATTEST t CHARLOTTE ALLEN, CITY SECRETARY CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS APPROVED AS TO LEGAL FORM C J TAYLOR, JR , CITY ATTORNEY CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS BY
