HomeMy WebLinkAbout1981-093NO _AI-93 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CERTAIN SECTIONS OF CHAPTER 17 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS PERTAINING TO THE COLLECTION OF GARBAGE, TRASH AND RUBBISH, AMENDING SECTION 12-3 TO PR©VIDE FOR A DIRECTOR OF SANITATION, AMENDING SECTION 12-19(b) TO PROVIDE FOR RESIDENTIAL FEES FOR THE COLLECTION OF GARBAGE, TRASH AND RUBBISH, AMENDING SECTION 12-20(c) TO PROVIDE FOR THE COLLECTION OF GARBAGE, AND PROVIDE FOR THE COLLECTION OF GARBAGE FROM BUILDINGS CONTAINING FOUR OR LFSS DWELLING UNITS, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF OCTOBER 1, 1091 AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS SECTION I Section 12-3 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Denton, Texas is hereby amended to read as follows "Section 12-3 Sanitation Division Director The Head of the Sanitation Division shall be the Director of Public Works of the City of Denton, Texas " SECTION II Section 12-19(b) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Denton, Texas is hereby amended to read as follows "(b) The charge for collecting rubbish from each individual Six Dollars ($6 00) per month subject to being increased division if more than the required " garbage, trash and family unit shall he All such fees are by the sanitation minimum service is SECTION III Section 12-20(c) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Denton, Texas is hereby amended to read as follows "(a) Buildings or connected series of buildings containing four (4) or less dwellinv units will be billed at the rate of Six Dollars ($6 00) ner unit Multiple dwelling units classified as fraternities, sororities, boardinghouses and dormitories shall be charged as a commercial or institutional service Any multiple dwelling units or commercial establishment which requires more than the minimum service described herein is subject to having the charges increased by the city sanitation division based upon the additional service required Any multiple residential dwelling including mobile homes shall be billed individually at the residential rate of Six Dollars ($6 00) per unit SECTION IV That if any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word in this ordinance, or application thereof to any person or circumstances is held invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance, and the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas hereby declares it would have enacted such remaining portions despite any such invalidity SECTION V That this ordinance shall become effective on the 1st day of October, 1981, and the new rates will be billed on the customer utility statements sent by the City of Denton on or after October 1, 1981 The City Secretary is hereby directed to cause the caption of this ordinance to be published twice in the Denton Record -Chronicle, the official newspaper of the City of Denton, Texas, within ten (10) days of the date of its passage PASSED AND APPROVED this the day of September, 1481 cryiMARD 0 STE T, MAY CI OF D NTON, TEXAS _KOF W.5 I , APPROVED AS TO LEGAL FORM C J TAYLOR, JR , CITY ATTORNEY CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS %�� BY i 0/r1 ZI 9238
