ESTABLISHING THE MAXIMUM PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMIT ON THAT
CERTAIN PORTION OF DALLAS DRIVE BEGINNING AT A POINT 000 FEET
NORTH OF THE INTERSECTION OF DALLAS DRIVE AND TEASLEY LANF,
THENCE IN A SOUTHERLY DIRECTION ON DALLAS DRIVE TO A POINT 50
FEET NORTH OF ITS INTERSECTION WITH PIPING ROCK TO BE THIRTY-
FIVE (35) MILES PER HOUR, DETERMINING AND ESTABLISHING THE
MAXIMUM PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMIT ON THAT CERTAIN PORTION OF
DALLAS DRIVE BEGINNING AT A POINT 900 FEET NORTH OF THE
INTERSECTION OF DALLAS DRIVE AND TEASLEY LANE, THENCE IN A
SOUTHERLY DIRECTION ON DALLAS DRIVE TO A POINT SOO FEET SOUTH
OF ITS INTERSECTION WITH THE EAST FRONTAGE ROAD OF INTERSTATE
HIGHWAY 3SE TO BE FORTY-FIVE (4S) MILES PER HOUR, PROVIDING A
PENALTY OF A FINE NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED ($200 00) DOLLARS,
PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, AND DECLARING AN PFFECTIVE
DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
Based upon an engineering and traffic investigation, the
City Council hereby determines that the reasonable and safe
prima facie maximum speed limit on that certain portion of
Dallas Drive beginning at a point 900 feet north of the
intersection of Dallas Drive and Teasley Lane, thence in a
southerly direction on Dallas Drive to a point SO feet north of
its intersection with Piping Rock to be thirty-five (15) miles
per hour
SECTION II
Based upon an engineering and traffic investigation, the
City Council hereby determines that the reasonable and safe
prima facie maximum speed limit on that certain portion of
Dallas Drive beginning at a point 000 feet north of the
intersection of Dallas Drive and Teasley Lane, thence in a
southerly direction on Dallas Drive to a point SOO Feet south
of its intersection with the east frontage road of Interstate
Highway 35E to be forty-five (4S) miles per hour
SECTION III
An individual adjudged guilty of exceeding this speed
limit, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and punished by a fine
not to exceed Two Hundred ($200 00) Dollars
SECTION IV
That if any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence,
clause, phrase or word in this ordinance, or application
thereof to any person or circumstances is held invalid by any
court of competent jurisdiction, stich holding shall not affect
the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance, and
the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas, hereby declares
it would have enacted such remaining portions despite any such
invalidity
SECTION V
That this ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14)
days from the date of its passage, and the City Secetary is
hereby directed to cause the caption of this ordinance to be
published twice in the Denton Record -Chronicle, the official
newspaper of the City of Denton, Texas, within ten (10) days of
the date of its passage U
