AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE 26 B (5) OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE
OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, AS SAME WAS ADOPTED AS AN
APPENDIX TO THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DENTON,
TEXAS, BY ORDINANCE NO 69-1, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
That Article 26 B (5) of the Zoning Ordinance of the City
of Denton, Texas, as same was adopted as an Appendix to the
Code of Ordinances of the City of Denton, Texas, by Ordinance
No 69-1 be amended to read as follows
"B (5) In case of a written protest against such
change, signed by the owners of twenty percent (20%)
or more either of the area of the lots or land
included in such proposed change, or of the lots or
land immediately adjoining the same and extending two
hundred feet (2001) therefrom, such amendment shall
not become effective except by the favorable vote of
three -fourths (3/4) of all members of the City
Council Furthermore, a favorable vote of
three -fourths (3/4) of all members of the City
Council is required to overrule a recommendation of
the Planning and Zoning Commission that a proposed
amendment, supplement, or change be denied "
SECTION II
That this ordinance shall become effective from and after
its date of passage
