HomeMy WebLinkAbout1981-023NO 8I-23 AN ORDINANCE CANVASSING THE ELECTION RETURNS OF A SPECIAL BOND ELECTION HELD FEBRUARY 28, 1981, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, a bond election was held in the City of Denton, Texas on February 28, 1981, and WHEREAS, the election officials have duly made their returns showing that a total of 2,781 qualified voters voted in said election, NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS HEREBY ORDAINS SECTION I The City Council hereby finds and determines that 2,781 votes were cast in said election and that each of the four propositions received the following votes PROPOSITION NO l THE ISSUANCE OF $4,700,000 OF STREET REBUILDING, REPAVING, OR OVERLAYING BONDS FOR AGAINST 1,777 1,457 PROPOSITION NO 2 THE ISSUANCE OF $1,300,000 OF STREET FOR AGAINST 1,125 607 INTERSECTION REBUILDING BONDS PROPOSITION NO 3 THE ISSUANCE OF $850,000 OF BELL AVENUF FOR AGAINST 1,923 811 REROUTING BONDS PROPOSITION NO 4 THE ISSUANCE OF $2,800,000 OF MCKINNEY FR AGAINST 1,745 STREET OVERPASS BONDS SECTION II That no proposition received a majority of the votes cast for each proposition, therefore, all four of the above bond propositions failed to pass SECTION III The ordinance shall become effective from and after its date of passage PASSED AND APPROVED this the Le) day of March, 1981 / � E ' CI Y 0 DE TON, TEXAS APPROVED AS TO LEGAL FORM C J TAYLOR, JR , CITY ATTORNEY CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS N C BY C/--'•
