HomeMy WebLinkAbout1979-079ORDINANCE NO 7q 79 AN ORDINANCE ANNEXATING A TRACT OF LAND CONTIGUOUS AND ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, BEING ALL THAT LOT, TRACT OR PARCEL OF LAND CONSISTING OF APPROXIMATELY 314 8261 ACRES OF LAND LYING AND BEING SITUATED IN THE COUNTY OF DENTON, STATE OF TEXAS AND BEING IN THE J S COLLARD SURVEY, ABSTRACT NO 297, A WHITE SURVEY, ABSTRACT 1406, AND THE N WADE SURVEY, ABSTRACT NO 1407 , DENTON COUNTY, TEXAS, CLASSIFYING THE SAME AS LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT PROPERTY, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the request for annexation was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas, on the petition of Dale Cunningham, and WHEREAS, an opportunity was afforded, at a public hearing held for that purpose on August 7, 1979 for all interested persons to state their views and present evidence bearing upon the annexation provided by this ordinance, and WHEREAS, this ordinance has been published in full at least one time in the official newspaper of the Pity of Denton, Texas, prior to its effective date, and after the public hearings NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE PITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS SECTION I That the hereinafter described tract of land he, and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Denton, Texas, and the same is made hereby a part of said City and the land and the present and future inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges of other citizens of said City and shall be bound by the acts and ordinances of said City now in effect or which may hereafter be enacted and the property situated therein shall be subject to and shall bear .its prorata part of the taxes levied by the City The tract of land hereby annexed is descrihed as follows, to -wit Being all that certain lot, tract or parcel of land situated in the J S Collard Survey, Abstract No 297, the A White Survey, Abstract No 1406 and the N Wade Survey, Ahstrant No 1407, Denton County, Texas, and being more particularly described as follows BEGINNING at an iron rod at the present intersection of the common east line of the J S Collard Survey, Abstract No 297, and west ILne of the T Toby Survey, Abstract No 1,138, with the north right of way line of Riney Road (a 30 font right of way), THENCE north 88 degrees 37 minutes 36 seconds west 329 73 feet with the north line of Riney Road to an iron rod for corner at a corner cutoff in the northeast right of way line of U S Highway 77 (a 120 foot right of way), THENCE north 73 degrees 13 minutes 39 seconds west 77 94 feet with the northeast line of U S Highway 77 and the corner cutoff line to an iron rod for corner, THENCE north 58 degrees 08 minutes 36 seconds west 814 14 feet with the northeast line of U S Highway 77 to an iron rod for corner THENCE north 58 degrees 09 minutes 36 seconds west 3550 01 feet with the northeast line of U S Highway 77 to an iron rod at the south corner of a corner cutoff at the present intersection of the northeast line of U S Highway 77 with the east right of way line of Bonnie Brae Road (a variable width right of way), THENCE north 29 degrees 02 minutes 01 seconds west 26 60 feat with the corner cutoff line to an iron rod for corner, THENCE north 00 degrees 12 minutes 13 seconds east 2045 03 feet with the east line of Bonnie Brae Road to an iron rod for corner, THENCE south 88 degrees 56 minutes 03 seconds Past 4185 61 feet to an iron rod for corner in the common line of the Collard and Toby Surveys, THENCE south 00 degrees 59 minutes 39 seconds west 1263 05 feet with the common line of the Collard and Tohy Surveys to an iron rod for corner, THENCE south 00 degrees 52 minutes 08 seconds west 3060 59 feet with the common line of the Collard and Toby Surveys to the place of beginning and containing 13,713 824 91 square feet of land or 314 8261 acres of land, more or less SECTION II The above described property is hereby classified as Light Industrial "LI" District and shall so appear on the official zoning map of the City of Denton, Texas, which map is herehy amended accordingly SECTION III This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage 04r_ .
