HomeMy WebLinkAbout1979-065NO 79 65 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, AS SAME WAS ADOPTED AS AN APPENDIX TO THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, BY ORDINANCE NO 69-1, AND AS SAID MAP APPLIES TO APPROXIMATELY 3 766 ACRES OF LAND , AS SHOWN THIS DATE ON THE OFFICIAL TAX MAP OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, AND MORF PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED THEREIN, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS SECTION I That the Zoning Map of the City of Denton, Texas, adopted the 14th day of January, 1969, as an Appendix to the Code of Ordin- ances of the City of Denton, Texas, under provisions of Ordinance No 69-1, be, and the same is hereby amended as follows A11 the hereinafter described property is hereby reclassified as below described as shown on said Zoning Map, and all provisions of Ordinance No 69-1, adopted the 14th day of January, 1969, as amended 1 1 37 acres of land located near the northeast corner of Dallas and Hopkins Drive shall be removed from the Agricultural "A" District to the Multi -Family 'IMF-1" District in the same manner as other property located in the Multi -Family "MF-1" District, 2 1 773 acres of land beginning 40 feet north of the Dallas and Hopkins Drive intersection shall be removed from the Agricultural District "A" to the General Retail "GR" District in the same manner as other property located in the General Retail "GR" District, and 3 623 acre of land beginning 230 feet north of the Dallas and Hopkins Drive intersection shall he removed from the Light Industrial "LI" District to General Retail "GR" District in the same manner as other property located in the General Retail "GR" District SECTION II That the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas hereby finds that such change is in accordance with a comprehensive plan for the purpose of promoting the general welfare of the City of Denton, Texas, and with reasonable consideration, among other things for the character of the district and for its peculiar suitability or particular uses, and with a view to conserving the value of the buildings, protecting human lives, and encouraging the most appropriate uses of land for the maximum benefit to the City of Denton, Texas, and its citizens SECTION III That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately after its passage and approval, the required public hearings having heretofore been held by the P I a n n i n q and 7oning Commission and the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas, after giving due notice thereof PASSED AND APPROVED this the 4th d of` e ber, A D 1979 L NA H, MAYOR CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS A T T E5;F—� _...� S HOLT, CITY SECRETARY CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS APPROVED AS TOO LEGAL F03,M T R SOLOMONS, ACTING CITY ATTORNEY, CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS
