HomeMy WebLinkAbout1979-058NO 79-5dD AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, AS SAME WAS ADOPTED AS AN APPENDIX TO THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, BY ORDINANCE NO 69-1, AND AS SAID MAP APPLIES TO APPROXIMATELY 9 ACRES OF LAND AS SHOWN THIS DATE ON THE OFFICIAL TAX MAP OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED THEREIN, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS SECTION I That the Zoning Map of the City of Denton, Texas, adopted the 14th day of January, 1969, as an Appendix to the Code of Ordinances of the City of Denton, Texas, under provisions of Ordinance No 69-1, be, and the same is hereby amended as follows All the hereinafter described property is hereby removed from the Agricultural "A" District as shown on said Zoning Map, and all provisions of Ordinance No 69-1, adopted the 14th day of January, 1969, as amended, shall hereafter apply to said property as Two Family "2-F" District in the same manner as other property located in the Two Family 112-F" District, A11 that certain lot, tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in the Robert Beaumont Survey, Abstract No 31 City and County of Denton, Texas, and being more particularly described as follows COMMENCING at the northwest corner of Lot 1, Block 4069-24 of North University Place Addition to the City of Denton, said point also being located in the south line of the N E Meisenheimer Survey, Abstract No 810, and said point also being in the south line of property of the City of Denton, THENCE south 62 degrees 15 minutes west along the said property line of City of Denton tract a distance of 521 4 feet to the point of beginning, THENCE south 0 degrees 51 minutes east along a line parallel to the west line of North University Place Addition a distance of 3,032 9 feet to a point for a corner, said point being in the north line of a tract of land owned now or formerly by J W Scott as recorded in Volume 671, Page 641, THENCE south 89 degrees 16 minutes west along the north property line of the J W Scott property a distance of 157 0 feet to a point for a corner, THENCE north 03 degrees 07 minutes 49 seconds east a distance of 412 0 feet to a point for a corner, said point also being a southeast corner of the City of Denton tract, THENCE north 0 degrees 51 minutes west along the east property line of the said City of Denton tract and parallel to the west property line of North University Place Addition a distance of 2,556 4 feet to a point for a corner, THENCE north 62 degrees 15 minutes east continuing along the property line of the said City of Denton tract a distance of 144 0 feet to the point of beginning and containing approximately 9 0 acres of land, more or less (Z-1373 - CARLO FARINA,JR ) SECTION II That the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas hereby finds that such change is in accordance with a comprehensive plan for the purpose of promoting the general welfare of the City of Denton, Texas, and with reasonable consideration, among other things for the character of the district and for its peculiar suitability or particular uses, and with a view to conserving the value of the buildings, protecting human lives, and encouraging the most appropriate uses of land for the maximum benefit to the City of Denton, Texas, and its citizens SECTION III That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately after its passage and approval, the required public hearings having heretofore been held by the Planning and Zoning Commission and the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas, after giving due notice thereof PASSED AND APPROVED this the 21st day ugust, A D 1979 BILL NA , CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS A T T OOKS HOLT, S RETAR CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS APPROVED AS TO LEGAL FORM BURT R 5OLOMONS,—ACTING CITY ATTORNEY, CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS
