AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 10
1/2, ENTITLED "FLOOD DAMAGE PREVENTION", ARTICLE III, SECTION
10 1/2-5, PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE AND DECLARING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
That the Code of Ordinances of the City of Denton, Texas is
hereby amended by amending Chapter 10 1/2, Article III, Section
10 1/2-5 to read as follows
"Section 10 1/2-5
The areas of special flood hazard identified by the
Federal Insurance Administration on its Flood Insur-
ance Rate Map (FIRM) and its Flood Boundary and
Floodway Map Community No 48-0194, dated August 1,
1979, and any revisions thereto are hereby adopted by
reference and declared to be a part of this Chapter "
SECTION II
That if any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence,
clause, phrase, or word in this ordinance, or application
thereof to any person or circumstances is held invalid by any
court of competent ,jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect
the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance, and
the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas, hereby declares
it would have enacted such remaining portions despite any such
invalidity
SECTION III
That this ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14)
days after the date of its passage and approval and the City
Secretary is hereby directed to cause the caption of this
ordinance to be published twice in the Denton Record -Chronicle,
the official newspaper of the City of Denton, Texas, within ten
(10) days of the date of its passage
