RUDDELL STREET, PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF, AND DE-
CLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
That the maximum speed lamlt on the below descrabed portion of
Ruddell, a public street within the Caty of Denton, IS hereby changed
as follows.
Twenty (20) miles per hour (MPH) from the centerlane of East
Hickory Street south a distance of One Thousand Nane Hundred
and Seventy-Five feet (1,975')
SECTION II
That anyone exceeding this speed limit, when posted, without legal
excuse, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and, upon convactlon, shall
be punished by a fine of any amount not exceeding Two Hundred ($200 00)
Dollars
SECTION III
That all ord~nanoes or parts of ordanances in force when the pro-
vlsaons of this ordinance become effective which are anconslstent or
an confllct with the terms or provisions of this ordinance are hereby
repealed to the extent of any such conflict
SECTION IV
That if any section, s~bsectlon, paragraph, sentence, clause,
word or phrase of this ordinance, or applacatlon thereof to any person
or circumstances, are held ~nvalld by any court of competent jurisdic-
tion, such holding shall not affect the valadlty of the remaining por-
tions of this ordinance, and the Caty Council of the Caty of Denton,
Texas, hereby declares it would have enated such remaining portions an
spite of any such invalidity
SECTION V
That thls ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14) days
from the date of its passage, and the Czty Secretary as hereby direct-
ed to cause the caption of this ordinance to be published ~n the Denton
Record-Chronicle within ten (10) days of the date of its passage
