AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS,
FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING ON OCTOBER 1, 1971, AND ENDING ON
SEPTEMBER 30, 1972, REVISING THE BUDGET FOR THE PRECEDING FISCAL
YEAR ENDING ON SEPTEMBER 30, 1971, LEVYING TAXES FOR THE YEAR
1971 TO BE ASSESSED ON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE LIMITS OF
THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, notice of a public hearing on the budget for the C~ty
of Denton, Texas, for the fzscal year 1971-1972 was heretofore pub-
l~shed at least 15 days in advance of said hearing, and
WHEREAS, a public hearing on the said budget was duly held on
the 20th day of September, 1971, and all anterested persons were
g~ven an opportunity to be heard for or against any item thereof,
now therefore
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I
That the budget for the City of Denton, Texas, for the fzscal
year beginning October 1, 1971, and endlng on September 30, 1972,
an words and fzgures as shown there~n ~s finally approved and adopt-
ed
SECTION II
That the budget for the C~ty of Denton, Texas, for the fzscal
year beginning on October 1, 1970, and endlng on September 30, 1971,
as show~ therein in words and figures, as hereby revised and amended
to show the words and flgures znd~cated as "REVISED 1970-71" in the
budget ~or the fiscal year beginning on October 1, 1971 and endzng
on September 30, 1972
SECTION III
That there shall be, and there ls hereby levzed, the following
taxes on each one hundred dollar ($100 00) valuatzon on all taxable
property w~thln the Caty of Denton, Texas, to be assessed and col-
lected by the Tax Assessor and Collector for the year 1971 and sazd
taxes are to be assessed and collected for the purposes stipulated
as follows, to-w~t
(a) For the General Fund Allocatzon on the
$100 00 valuation $ 8285
(b) For the Interest and Redemption Funds on out-
standing bonded lndebtedness on the $100 00
valuation 8715
Total Allocataon of Levy $1 70
The above allocation of the levy is made to ~nsure that deposits
zn the Interest and Redemption Funds of taxes collected durang the
year ending September 30, 1972, will total $701,408 00 but
~s not intended to exceed that amount
SECTION IV
That the C~ty Manager shall cause copzes of the budget to be
fzled w~th the City Secretary, the County Clerk of Denton County and
the State Comptroller of Publzc Accounts
SECTION V
That this ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its
passage
