HomeMy WebLinkAbout1971-036AN ORDINIANCE AMENDING THE ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, AS SAME WAS ADOPTED AS AN APPENDIX TO THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, BY ORDINANCE NO 69-1, AND AS SAID MAP APPLIES TO CITY BLOCK 187-1 AS SHOWN THIS DATE ON THE OFFICIAL TAX MAP OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED THEREIN, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS SECTION I That the Zoning Map of the City of Denton, Texas, adopted January 14, 1969, as an Appendix to the Code of Ordinances of the C~ty of Denton, Texas, under prowslons of Ordinance No 69-1, be, and the same is hereby amended as follows All the hereinafter described property is hereby removed from the "A" Agricultural D~str~ct as shown on sa~d Zon- ing Map, and all provisions of Ordinance No 69-1, adopt- ed the 14th day of January, 1969, as amended, shall here- after apply to sa~d property as "SF-IO'~ S~ngle Family D~strlct in the same manner as other property located in the "SF-IO" Single Family Dlstr~ct, All of lots 2, 2 1, 2 2, 2 3, 2 3A, &, 2 4, belnq a part of Block 187-1 except that portion of Lot 2, Block 187-1 described as follows BEGINNING at the northwest corner of said Lot No 2, THENCE east along north boundary line of said Lot No 2, a d~stance of 200 feet to a point for a corner, THENCE south 200 feet east of and parallel w~th the west boundary l~ne of sa~d Lot No 2, a d~stance of 360 feet to a point for a corner, THENCE west, a distance of 200 feet to a point for a cor- ner ~n the west boundary line of sa~d Lot No 2, THENCE north along the west boundary l~ne of said Lot No 2 a distance of 360 feet to the point of beglnninq and containing approximately 72,000 square feet of land SECTION II That the C~ty Council of the C~ty of Denton, Texas, hereby finds that such change is ~n accordance with a comprehensive plan for the purpose of promoting the general welfare of the City of Denton, Texas, and with reasonable consideration, among other things for the character of the dlstr~ct and for ~ts peculiar suet- ability or particular uses, and with a v~ew to conserving the value of the buildings, protecting human l~ves, and encouraging the most appropriate uses of land for the maxlmum benefit to the C~ty of Denton and ~ts citizens SECTION III That th~s ordinance shall be ~n full force and effect ~mmed- lately after ~ts passage and approval, the required public hear- ~ngs hawn§ heretofore been held by the Planning and Zoning Com- mission and the C~ty Council of the C~ty of Denton, Texas, after g~v~ng due not~ce thereof PASSED AND APPROVED this the 27th day of July, A D 1971 CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS ATTEST CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS JAy(TK Q -BARTON,-CITY ATTORNEY' Y OF DENTON, TEXAS
