AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
DENTON, TEXAS, CREATING AND ESTABLISHING FIRE ZONES, REPEAL-
ING CONFLICTING PROVISIONS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY ORDAINS
PAIRT ONE
That Section 5-1 of Chapter F~ve of the Code of Ordinances
is hereby repealed and supplanted, and shall hereafter read as
follows
Sec 5-1 Fire Zones Established
(a) The fire zones of the City are hereby established as
follows, and all provisions of the Building Code of the C~ty,as
amended, and of any other ordinance of the C~ty or law of the
State shall refer to the territory included ~n th~s Section
1 Fire Zone One shall be and ~nclude all of the areas
now and hereafter zoned U-University Dlstr~ct, P-Park~nq D~str~ct,
O-Office District, NS-Neighborhood Serwce D~str~ct, GR-General
Retail Service District, C-Commercial D~str~ct, and CB-Central
Bus~ness D~strict
2 F~re Zone Two shall be and ~nclude all of the area now
and hereafter zoned LI-Light Industrial Dlstr~ct and HI-Heavy In-
dustrial District
3 Fire Zone Three shall be and ~nclude all of the area
now and hereafter zoned A-Agricultural D~strlct, SF-16-One Family
ing Dlstr~ct, SF-lO-One Family Dwelling District, SF-7-One
Dwelly Dwelling Dlstr~ct, SF-5-One Family Dwelling Dlstr~ct, 2F-Two
Fam~l
Family Dwelling D~strict, MF-1-Mult~ple Family Dwelling District
One, and MF-2-Multiple Family Dwelling D~strlct Two
(b) All territory and areas now zoned pD-Planned Development
Dlstr~¢t shall be ~noluded in the fire zone most applicable to the
use permitted therein as if it were class3fled ~n a zoning dlstr3ct
which would expressly permit such use
(c) All territory and area hereafter zoned pD-Planned Deve-
lopment District shall be in the f~re zone expressly provided there-
for, but ~f not so provided, above Subsect~on..~b shall apply thereto
PART TWO
That if any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause,
phrase or word in this ordinance, or appl3cation thereof to any per-
son or circumstances ~s held invalid by any court of competent jur-
isdiction, such holding shall not affect the validity of the remain-
lng poltroons of this ordinance, and the City Council of the City of
Denton, Texas, hereby declares it would have enacted such remaining
portions despite any such invalidity
PART THREE ~e_~v~
That, thlslordinance shall be effective on and after the
day of /V~b~ , 1971, and the C~ty Secretary is here y
dlrectedlto publish the caption of th~s ordinance twtce in the
Denton Record-Chronicle within fourteen (14) days of the date of
its pass~ge
